Found footage helps a true-crime novelist realize how and why a family was murdered in his new home, though his discoveries put his entire family in the path of a supernatural entity.

Starring: Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Clare Foley.

Directed by: Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still 2008)

Not bad, some of that stuff really creeped me out. Critics that have seen the movie seem to love it as well.

Looks like one of those rare movies that will actually give me trouble sleeping or moving around the house at night for weeks...

And it takes a LOT to scare me.

read the script, didn't really think much of it, I'm gonna wait until critics for this one. sometimes a writer knows what they're doing and it just doesn't come off as great on the page - 'fright night' comes to minds - but is good on the screen.

Massawyrm

 I saw the trailer earlier, can't wait to see Carlyle's film come to life. It actually looks really good.

Variety & IGN. Good sign. Good sign. If it stays that way, then yeah - matter of a more 'technical' screenplay than an overall good read. Basically, as said - like 'Fright Night' - I loved that film but had difficulty getting through the script, it just shows more technical rather than literary emphasis of some of the other scripts out there if that makes sense...

Saw this film at SXSW, Holy hell, it was a pretty scary movie for the most part. Good story and everything. I recommend everyone watch this movie.

Looks pretty creepy. I'm one of the few that actually kind of liked Insidious so I'm sure this will scare me a bit.

It's a f***ed up as movie that will scare you, and keep you on back of your seat for the whole movie.

Looks good! Happy for Cargill aka Massawurm aka Cargyle of Spill.

It looks pretty damn scary...

However...it's yet another movie featuring "harm to children" as a motif and device, to which i think is extremely cheap and lame.

I liked insidious as well and this looks right up my street. Trailer looked good.

Really it's the whole family though. I believe all the previous residents all died, not just the kiddies.

I'm not going to throw it out just yet, I have to say Insidous had these elements and so did some classics ala the shining(love both movies)...but it seems getting overdone.

Insidious was actually pretty tempered, as the baby was sent away and did not get threatned past the 1st act. ..and i dont think it was the chief device of the horror.

I'm just getting tired of it..chief culprits being Dont be Afraid of the Dark, Parnormal movies, and The Women in Black over doing these elements.

This movie as well as The Possession (the Jewish exorcist) and Silent Hill Revelations are the horror films I'm most looking forward to this year.

I still haven't heard anything new about this one. I want a trailer.

great trailer and great reviews....

but im still iffy that director doesnt have much experience making things freightening..
that exorcism movie he made was more of a court room drama

Trailer looks really good.

After reading this thread, I checked out Insidious on Netflix. I really enjoyed it. I thought the reveal of the demon was a little odd.

I thought it was much more chilling with him in the shadows.
