So glad Coogler is doing his own original project. After the excellence of Fruitvale, Creed and Black Panther, you could tell how compromised he was with Wakanda Forever. Hopefully this brings him back creatively.

Details are being kept hush-hush but according to sources, the project has been described as a period thriller involving the undead. Some sources have said it contains anime influences — Jordan is known for be a massive fan— but how those are weaved in are unclear.

I watched Last Voyage of the Demeter this past weekend and was so disappointed by how boring and by-the-numbers it was. I desperately need some good vampire movies after that, and hopefully both this and Eggers's Nosferatu get the job done.

Being the brilliant storyteller that he is, if Coogler gives us something that's like Anne Rice meets Blade, I'll be a happy camper.

Looking forward to the Nosferatu remake too.

I'm not too hot about the 1930s thing either, but it could always just be when the characters got vamped and they have flashbacks or something.

Vampire period pieces are some of my favorite vampire films so I'm good with this news, especially if Coogler takes influences from stuff like Interview with the Vampire or anime's like Vampire Hunter D or Hellsing.

There is honestly a lot of cool material out there that they could use from classic novels to anime that could make something really great not to mention Blade which would the most obvious choice IMO.

With MBJ/Coogler involved the potential of this is HUGE.
