Skaar: Son of Hulk by Greg Pak and Ron Garney

I'm getting this because I loved Planet Hulk so much. Other than that, I really have no reason to buy this. And isn't Pags on Avengers now?

Is he? I know he did that NA Annual, but I didn't know he'd been announced as a regular artist or anything. Whichever book he's on, he'll rock the house with it. His PH work was good, but he's improved his game so much since then. That NA Annual was gorgeous.

I thought I heard something about Mighty Avengers or something.

Planet Hulk was so much better than I remembered it to be.Re-read some of it the past couple days.

WWH was big smash 'em up popcorn fun.

Looking forward to seeing Pak's 3rd installment of the trilogy.

Pak's 2 for 3 with me--Planet Hulk ruled, World War Hulk sucked, and Incredible Hercules is becoming one of my favorite comics every month. That record plus Garney means I'll buy this.

Really, Garney alone meant I would've bought this.

Corp, WWH didn't suck, it just wasn't that great.

The main mini sucked. The Incredible Hulk tie-in was pretty good. Other bits were decent.

How did the main mini suck? I remember JRJR's art being ridiculously awesome and the inclusion of Thunderbolt Ross was great. People who didn't like it because the Hulk pwned everyone shouldn't have gone into it expecting anything different than what it was. The ending was a bit weak, I'll say that.

Meh, its the best of Marvel "modern" events so far.

Yeah, I wasn't in love with it like Planet Hulk, but it delivered in the same ways the HULK title does. Balls to the wall blockbuster, Bruckheimeresque battles and carnage.

Yeah, it was seriously the most kinetic JRJR art I've seen a long time.

I thought there would be more substance to the story than just literally setting people up like dominos for the Hulk to knock down. And it's not like we didn't already know the Hulk would kick all their asses. There was no tension or anything. It was one big exercise in futility.

So whats this story about really? I mean, whats the plot driving this book?

Is this the third part to the PH trilogy or are we still waiting for that?

Yeah, this is the third part of the PH trilogy. Sounds like Skaar might make it to Earth eventually, too.
