Sleeping Dogs

How is the driving compared to GTA IV? I've never found a game with the same fluid driving, or the same brutal accidents when you have a crash.

Sleeping Dogs sounds really good and while the driving wouldn't be enough to put me off, if it's good it might be enough to get me to buy it sooner.

its not nearly as good. the physics used in GTA are unmatched both in car handling and damage modeling. with that said tho, the driving is still very solid. its responsive and fluid and the vehicles give off a good sense of speed.

Episode 6: The Summer Drought Has Ended!

It’s the NSFW Edition. This week: Vic and Scott swear a record 32 times down on The Basement. No kidding. If you have sensitive ears, or if you’re our moms, use caution when listening. Also: there’s one unfortunate reference to buttholes and one reference to “ramming tongues.” Scott also does a dramatic reading of The Press Release Of The Week (this one provided by Reviews host Ben Silverman) (thanks, Ben!). And Mad Dog McCree is officially banned from all future episodes of Reviews on the Run and EP. Why? Listen to unravel the mystery.

and a little of darksiders II too. but it's here cause of sleeping dogs.

I got the game yesterday and it's such a blast, Hong Kong is vibrant and so fresh in terms of an open-world games, also the focus on the combat rather than relying on guns when you're doing a mission. The driving is just the right amount of arcade to it and I really like the music selection they've got for the radio channels, it's almost as good as Rockstar's selection for their GTA games.

And almost every, tv/ review site said it from ROTR to GT Activison really screwed up by letting this title drop. Publishers have been acting weird of late and some of these studio's are thinking about breaking a way from them when they do stuff like this or screw them over when their making AAA Games.(like what happened with alpha protocol ) They better start double thinking when their doing stuff like that from now on.

Yea, its why i said earlier i really hope this game does well. Activision was foolish for dropping this title, but I'm glad they did, much rather see this series go to another publisher.

I agree, and with as much stuff as this game nailed, if they are given the green light for a sequel, this franchise is gonna be great. I hope it does good.

On a side note, if they do make a sequel, I would like to see the game take place in Thailand, now that's a location that doesn't get much recognition in games. They should look to Ong Bak and the Protector for inspiration

I had no idea that this game wasnt a True Crimes game at first. I always thought it was and then got changed into something else

Thanks! I guess I'll wait until it's cheap...although now that I think about it, by that point GTA V will probably be out and I'll forget all about it.

The melee looks like a lot of fun though, I'm betting GTA V won't have that!

Yea i didn't know that until after Activision dropped the game. United Front then came out and said it was never intended as a True Crime title.

I just listened to them talk about it on the Sony Blogcast. They had an original vision for the game but Activision didnt think it would sell so they slapped the TC branding on it to tie it to a franchise. Probably best thing for them was getting dropped bc SE gave them the freedom to do what they originally intended

Sleeping Dogs Shenmue parody:

"I found the mirror."

Now I want to play Shenmue.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that outfit was familiar. When I first put it on, I was like hell yea, I'm Ryu!

Nice waking up today I can play this bad boy all day for my birthday! So much Hong Kong, so little time.

Some games I do, some games I dont

Eh that doesn't count. If I had any form of patience I'd never pay more than 30 for a "new release". U rarely see games go that low on release week tho. The only games iv bought on releases day for under 50 bux was NCAA 2013 and the last Assassins Creed game.

Most games can be found for $40 within the first month and some retailers offer $20 gift cards with purchases on release day/preorders. Best Buy does it for most of their big releases and its how I got ME3, release day and how I'll get AC3. Amazon is another one. Even if I were to pay $60, again most go on sale within the first month so thats something I can always price-match for I actually spent $45 on SSX when it first came out, but managed to get it for $30 bc the thing went on sale rather fast. You just have to be smart and look out for this stuff. I guarantee you this game will be $40 somewhere within the next month

hehe from the sound of it, it's likely what havoks been buying isn't always console based ether. Besides him being patient. Depends on the game.

Yea the deals are deff there, if you wait. I hate waiting. No doubt this game will drop in the next month, but it's not a new release then. There are very few games I want that I'm willing to wait for. I think the only game I'll prob wait on that's coming up, is Madden. I'll wait and see if they patch in certain features that have been omitted, but other than that if I'm interested in a game, it's usually a day one buy.
