    ****WARNING**** LOTS OF SPOILERS

DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED

Someone recommended that this thread be started, to round up all the info that is known about the movie so far. This is everything I can remember right now. I'm sure there is a lot more info that can be added, and some of the accuracy might be a tad off, as I have added some of my own assumptions. Feel free to add any new info, and discuss the plot and scenes that we know are in the movie so far.
-Wayne Manor is being rebuilt; Bruce Wayne and Alfred are staying in a penthouse suite. Batman keeps the tumbler, his suit and equipment and a computer terminal in an underground garage.
-The Joker is the main villain. His first scene, which is also the opening scene of the movie, is a bank robbery where he and his goons wear clown masks. The goons begin taking each other out, under instructions by the Joker, in order to get larger shares of the money. It turns out that the bank is a mob bank, and the money belongs to the Falcone family. The Bank Manager (played by William Fichtner) tries to stop the thugs, but is shot by the Joker. He escapes on a stolen school bus.
-Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) is the new District Attorney. He is seen as Gotham’s “white knight.” He is alsomdating Rachel Dawes.
-Bruce Wayne is up to his playboy millionaire antics. At one point in the movie he throws a party on his private yacht for the cast of an Opera, closing the show for the night.
-Salvatore Maroni (Eric Roberts) is the new head of the Falcone family. There are gang wars ensuing the streets of Gotham City including Maroni’s gang, a Chechen gang, and a mob lead by a man named Gambol (Michael Jai White). Joker meets with the various gang leaders at some point in the movie, demanding that they kill Batman in return for half of their stolen money. After one of the mobsters criticizes The Joker, he slams the goons head onto a pencil.
-Vigilantes, disguising themselves as Batman, their hero, patrol the streets of Gotham. They attempt to break up a confrontation between a Chechen gang and Scarecrow early on in the movie. The Chechens release attack dogs on the Vigilantes, who must be rescued by the Batman. Scarecrow tries to escape in a white van, but is also captured by Batman.
-Dent wants to stop the gang wars in Gotham and put an end to organized crime. To mount a case against Maroni he needs to bring an extradited accountant from Hong Kong named Lau (Chin Han), who has connections with Maroni, to Gotham. Batman travels to Hong Kong (as Bruce Wayne) with Lucius Fox in order to bring Lau to Gotham.
-Dent works closely with Lt. Jim Gordon and Batman, in order to stop Maroni and the organized crime in Gotham City.
-At some point, Harvey Dent announces that he is Batman at a press conference.
-Bruce Wayne throws a party for at his penthouse suite. Harvey Dent and Rachel are present. The Joker and his goons crash it, trying to kill Dent. Batman intervenes, but the Joker ends up kidnapping Rachel, threatening her with her at knife point, Batman intervenes, but the Joker gets the upper hand due to his goons. The Joker throws Rachel out of a window but she does not die.
-Reporter/radio/talk show host named Mike Engel (Anthony Michael Hall) hires a man named Reese (Joshua Harto) to dig up information on Bruce Wayne. Reese breaks into the applied sciences sector of Wayne Enterprises and somehow discovers Batman’s true identity. Engel announces he will reveal the identity on his evening program. Not to be out of the limelight, Joker makes a bomb threat to the TV station, causing the program to be cancelled. Reese must be escorted out of the station. Once in the SWAT vehicle, Officer Berg (Matt Shallenberger) pulls his weapon on Reese. The Joker also uses Mike Engel to broadcast an eerie television message.
-Tired of all the vigilantes running around Gotham, and wanting to find the real Batman, Joker kidnaps their leader and, after interrogating him on camera, hangs him from a flag pole outside the mayor’s office with a Joker card pinned into his chest with a knife. On the card it reads, “Will the real Batman please stand up.” Harvey Dent is making a proclamation of a crime-free 18 months in Gotham to Mayor Anthony Garcia (Nester Carbonell) when the wind blows the dead body into the window of the mayor's office. Once the police take the body down, they see that a smile has been cut into the dead man’s face, and it has been painted white, with red around the lips.
-Batman/Bruce Wayne is struggling with falling into his persona, and juggling both the life of Batman and Bruce Wayne. He is seen doing more detective work this time around. He also gets a new suit before he goes to Hong Kong, due to the nature of the mission.
-Lt. Gordon (Gary Oldman) fakes his own death. His wife, Barbara (Melinda McGraw) is notified about his “death” by Detective Stephens (Keith Szarabajka). Gordon's son, James, Jr. is in the movie, portrayed by Nathan Gamble.
-Eventually Maroni and other gang leaders are rounded up and arrested by Batman, and SWAT squads led by Gordon. Maroni is in a night club with two mistresses (Sarah Jayne Dunn and Kerri Parker) when Batman breaks in and takes him.
-The Joker burns all of the mob’s money in front of the Chechen Leader (Richie Coster)
-Due to the information learned from Lau, Dent is able to prosecute Maroni. During the trial, while one of Maroni’s associates, a man named Al Rossi (Michael Vieau), is on the stand, a gun is pulled out on Dent, but misfires.
-At some point, the Joker and some of his goons are arrested. Batman interrogates the Joker, and ends up beating him up. The Joker escapes by the use of a bomb planted in the stomach of one of his goons.
-Joker kills Commissioner Loeb by poisoning his wine and Judge Surrillo by a car bombing. This leads Gordon to be named as Commissioner.
-At Loeb and Surrillo’s funeral, the Joker (disguised as a cop) makes an assassination attempt on the mayor. The mayor does in fact die.
-Detective Stephens and Detective Ramirez (Monique Curnen) are cops loyal to who share scenes with Lt. Gordon.
-The Joker kidnaps both Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes. He places them into two separate warehouses, and gives Batman the addresses to both. He must choose who to save. Batman goes after Rachel and sends Gordon to find Dent. However, when Batman arrives he finds the Joker lied and he is where Dent is. Gordon arrives late to Rachel, the warehouse explodes, and she is killed. Half of Dent’s face is now burnt as well.
-Dent is then sent to the hospital. Trying to finish Dent off, the Joker, disguised as a nurse, blows up the hospital, he also talks to Dent, now “Two Face” as he lies in his hospital bed.. Dent is somehow able to escape.
-There is a chase scene involving the Bat mobile and the Joker in a semi-truck. The Batpod emerges from the Tumbler, and Batman uses it for at least part of the chase.
-Dent, now scarred, confronts Maroni. He flips his coin to determine whether to kill Maroni or not. The flip determines that Maroni will live for the time being, but his driver is not so lucky. Maroni is later killed, as his limo now has no driver. Dent also makes an appearance at a bar where he confronts Detective Wuertz (Ron Dean).
-The Joker causes much chaos in Gotham, and makes a threat forcing all of Gotham to evacuate onto huge barges. The criminals are on one barge, while the many citizens of Gotham City are on the other. Joker announces that there are bombs on both barges, with the triggers for both bombs on the barges themselves. The people are the barges are timed, and must find the triggers and decide to blow up their own ship or the other ship, or both will be destroyed when the time runs out. Mush chaos ensues. Eventually, a tattooed prisoner (Tiny Lister) takes matters into his own hands and destroys the barge with the prisoners on it, sacrificing himself and the other prisoners to save the lives of other. This culminates to the final showdown between Joker and Batman.
-Batman and the Joker fight throughout the empty streets of Gotham, and eventually apprehends the Joker, hanging from the side of the building to be taken into custody by the police.
-Two Face, thinking that Gordon is partly responsible for Rachel’s death, goes after him. He kidnaps Gordon’s wife and son. He is about to flip a coin to see whether to kill or not when Batman intervenes. Two Face ends up falling off of a building, killing him.
After Harvey Two Face’s funeral, Batman takes the credit for all of Two Face’s killings. This forces the GDP after him and puts him on the run.

Cool! Yeah this thread is a good idea. A lot of that information posted there i missed...so it is a good thing to have it in the one place, rather than to find that post in one of many quality threads.

They are from various spy and set reports from reliable posters on here and on BOF, some of the sides, as well as some reliable scoopers such as RoryBat, Anjow and Sasquatchs that have been verified by several sources. Harvey Dent announcing that he is Batman is an old report and that may have been debunked but I don't believe so. There were a few extras who reported this scene.

There was a set report that said something different. Gordon and some cops storm into Maronis restaurant to take him, Maroni says "You aren,t going to embrasess me in front of my friends are you?" and Gordon says "No. They're coming too". An undercover cop posing as a mobster is there. I don't which one's true, just sayin.

One of Jokers bank goons, he's the guy in the spy photo with his mask off.

it's not like there hasn't been a thread like this, the information has been on this forum. if you read other threads you'd know all of this, so i wouldn't say the movie is ruined now. but it is nicely compiled, and i think this thread should stay open because it has a lot of information readily available.

"Kerri Parker (Bourne Ultimatum, I Want Candy) told Evening News 24 about her upcoming appearance in The Dark Knight. She’s going to be Eric Roberts aka Sal Maroni’s moll, and she gladly revealed the details of her scene that involves Batman and Maroni:
“They fitted me out quite well,” she said. “I was stood behind Eric Roberts when Batman (Christian Bale) came in and he was jumping off balconies and down the stairs.
“I say ‘What’s going on over there, is that Batman?’, and then when he jumps on the table in front, I back off, really scared.”
Of course you have to be really scared. He’s the ******* Batman."

Chechen or Czech? They're really way different things. Not just geographically but their motives would be totally different as well.

But now we have a rumor that Joker may be the manipulator using the bank to control the mob. If the bank plays a role in the plot then Fitchner may not necessarily get killed off early.
