Sleeping Dogs

I consider it new if its within the release month. And I think this will drop fast. It looks like it will be more of a sleeper hit, not really selling huge numbers. Especially with the bigger, more popular titles starting to come out next month this will probably drop soon to push units and make space as it surely will get lost in the shuffle if it remains at $60

The last sleeper hit was border lands and that sold extremely well though.

I beat the game last night. Cool damn ending. Really hope we see more of Wei Shen in the future.

Dear God I love this game. The rain effects are amazing, especially at night how the neon lights glisten off the wet streets. The combat is amazing. Driving amazing. Story fresh and real. Collectibles everywhere. This is a sandbox gamers heaven.

I've been stuck on doing these Martial Arts Club minigames, been throwing guys over the wall onto the streets, too hilarious. I love this game

What was your final game clock? Also how big is the city? How does it compare to SR3 and GTAIV? Bigger, smaller, about same? Is there alot to do outside of main mission? Multiplayer?

Awesome to hear.
Definitely became a must buy for me.....haven't seen a good sandbox game in a long time.

i finished in 21 hours. still have a lot of races, drug busts, armored car hijackings and hidden items to find tho. as for the size of the city, its a little smaller than a Liberty City, prob a bit bigger than the SR titles tho. Yea theres a lot to do outside of the main story. youve got street races, car jackings, armored car jackings, gambling, fight clubs, karaoke, drug busts(which consist of fighting thugs then hacking a security camera) favors for other triad members(things like running from the cops, killing rival gang members etc). youve also got a lot of hidden items to find. theres a lot to this game. i love the fight clubs, so damn fun.

I keep driving on the wrong side of the road lmao. Really loving the Hong Kong atmosphere and the story is surprisingly engaging. I wish the combat AI were a little more varied to make for more wicked action. It's like they all stand around and attack you one at a time, blech. It works though, I just wanted something faster to really drive that action movie feel home. So far it's a solid game, been playing for 6 hours just doing side s**t. And it's pretty.

I'm really happy I got it for $30 though. If you're on the fence it really can't hurt to wait for a price drop, especially if you have your eye on Darksiders 2 or Borderlands 2.

Yea i deff agree with that. Theres some moves you unlock later on that are a bit quicker and give off that feel. Theres also a few enemies later in the game that counter your attacks the same way you do theirs. But i agree, as much as i love the combat, it would of been so much cooler if it was sped up just a hair.

Thanks. That sounds reassuring

Oooh I can't wait. I've only found a couple statues, I'm mostly working on getting face lvl'd up.

Finished the main story, clocked in around 20+ hours and have done most of the debts, cases, and races but still got stuff to do, favors, lockboxes and highjacking vehicles Anyway I just wanted to pitch in and say that this game has been a blast from start to finish, I never had my hopes high but man did it delivered.

Wei is really fun when you unlock all new moves. My only nitpick is I wish you could've have some branching choices at parts of the game, kind of like GTA IV's, even a bit like that I'd like.

Yea that would of been really cool. It would of helped the player get deeper into the mind of Wei Shen. Deff something they should think about adding if they ever do a sequel.

lmfao, 60% into the story and I'm just now finding out about the phone, and being able to go on dates and do jobs. God I love this game.

I may be getting this today... I have 100 dollars in extra EB credit on my PowerUp card and nothing really to use it on. I'm holding off on the 3DS XL until after Christmas in hopes for A.) A Cool Bundle and B.) Colors that aren't ass.

Three new DLC packs for Sleeping Dogs have landed on Steam, running $3 a pop. There's the Red Envelope Pack, which sends players on a hunt throughout Hong Kong for 20 red envelopes stuffed with $50,000 each, netting an eventual $1 million (HK dollars, that is).

Next up is the Top Dog Gold Pack, which nets players 8,250 Triad, 4,500 Cop and 4,500 extra Face Experience Points. The High Roller Pack provides $200,000 and early access to the luxury Tuono vehicle and High Roller suit, both of which can be earned otherwise by playing the game.

Hopeflly it'll end up on the other systems as well fast. you you others can enjoy it as well.

Lol 17 hours in and still have 66% of the story and a ****load of collectibles and side missions to go, this was definitely a 60 bux well spent.

Man, I hate driving with vans, buses and all that ****. Innocent bystanders get killed left and right when I try to drive with those things.

Hahah everytime I see a motorcycle I hold A to open the door and hit them.

I'm bummed to hear it's mostly a linear narrative though, but it's pretty fun so I don't really mind.

I always try not to hurt civilians at all costs. In fact, every time I accidentally kill one, I reload my last save. I just hate the idea of having civilians on my conscience.

I tried out the demo for Sleepy Dogs and I'm not going to criticize it too much since it's just a demo and I have no intention of buying it anytime soon, but either the game is poorly designed or the demo is. There's a part where it wants me fight like 20 guys, but I just ran right past them, grabbed a pistol, and gunned them all down. The on foot chase sequence was super boring. The hand to hand is an okay riff on Arkham combat, so that's a plus. The shooting though, maybe it's just because all I had to work with are pistols, but I think the game does this thing that I absolutely hate where the guns are intentionally inaccurate.

I'm sure all of those issues don't matter too much in the larger context of it being an open world game, but the demo didn't show me any open world stuff so I can only judge what it did show me.

The game is much better then the demo from what I hear, and it (sorry to say) came out late that it doesn't even matter at this stage .

So it's best that you just get the game since you hear mostly good stuff about it instead of bothering with Demo's. Of late alot of them aren't representative of the actual games. KOAR (Kingdom of Amulur Reckoning) and Deus EX Revolutions have shown this of late expect alot of this to be the case down the line with demo's.
