hey guys. i was wondering how you guys think SM3 will perform in the boxx office.

i mean, obviously it'll do well. but i mean, compared to SM1 and SM2, how do you think it will match up?

the first 2 have been HUGE. i have a feeling this one will surpass the success of SM2. i dunno about SM1. but with the anticipation surrounding this movie, it definitely has the chance to break some box office records.

what do you guys think?

also....how do you think it'll be reviewed by the critics? the first 2 got very good reviews.

This will be probably one of the biggest Superhero movies of all-time. It will make SM2 look like a firecracker.

I hope it whoops all superhero movies.

SM3 will be the biggest superhero movie ever, i'm optomistic it'll be a big hit in box office.

Spiderman 1 -- 401.12 mil

Spiderman 2 -- 373.8mil

Spiderman 3 -- 390 -405mil

410-415 million. maybe even higher.

i hope it gets good reviews. i know it won't mean much to the success of the film, but it's always good to see spidey get some love.

Agreed.

I noticed that the first movie did crazy-well, because of all the speculation and the 40-year wait. While it pleased general audiences, it alienated some fans and got more mixed reviews.

However, the second movie did ever so slightly less well than the first - because there were those who went to the first movie and didn't like it and didn't come to this one. HOWEVER, this movie was a great deal better than the first, so it ended up converting lots more people to the Spider-man cause. One example would be Roger Ebert - he gave a thumbs down to the first Spidey, but a big thumbs up to the second.

Now that the second proved that the sequel could be vastly, VASTLY better than the original, the crowds for Spider-man 3 will be huge.

well said!

It will make ALOT of money, SM2 made more money than Star Wars attack of the clones. Come on if sm 2 beat the legendary star wars franchise it is good enough.

I'm thinking Spider-Man 3 just may dominate at the box office, of course, I don't know that yet, because I can't go to the future right now.

My SM3 Estimate:

$666,666,666.66 (and on the day it makes its final cent, the world comes to an end, and Titanic's record is no more).

and celine dion's heart will stop.

This is a stupid question because no matter what we think will happen the reality of it all depends on people going to see it and enjoying it. Looking at X3, they could just obliterate the spider-man franchise. They could kill off everyone and keep James Franco alive to do a Green Goblin spin-off film. Casual movie goers might like that.
Then again they could stay suprisingly true to the source material and people could hate it.

I'm just saying that there's not only no way to guess if the movie will do well, but the guesses that this thread will spawn really can't even be interesting. At the box office:

"The movie will suck"
"The movie will rock"
"I don't know"
"I don't care."

And then the occasional poster who will say something like:

"Pancakes!!!!"

As a response.

$400 million domestically is possibility. Since SM2 got better reception than SM1, SM3 should be the biggest of all 3 Spidey films. The release date for SM3 is also gonna be much better than SM2's release date. That's the only reason why SM2 fell short of SM1.

Somewhere between 370-400 million is my guess.
