Will Spider-Man 3 take back the box office 3 day record?

Move over Titanic

easy tiger...
...lets not get too ahead of ourselves here.

i think it will either match or break the record.
as for titanic's 600 mil, that is fine for now.

I think it will do very well, but POTC3 being released the same month has me a bit uneasy.
I wasn't a fan of POTC but that 2nd one was spectacular.

cant wait for both 3's:up::up::up:

I don't see this move pulling in 400... do your HW people... look at the numbers... it doesn't happen too often... it doesn't matter if it takes the opening weekend... which it won't... but it is just so difficult to get to 400... 390 is my bet

I kind of doubt that Spidey will break the opening record, or Titanic's record. Now, im a fan, as my name suggests, but there are some things to consider. The trend with big movies sems to be a blowout first weekend, but then the crowds drizzle down in the following weeks. Second, as far as I understand, POTC comes out 3 weeks later, taking probably any business Spidey would have after 3 weeks. And I really don't think POTC 3 will break the POTC 2 opening record either. 3rd movies usually don't do as well. Not all (i.e. Star Wars 3, X-Men.)

Now, of course Star wars will make its money, its perhaps the biggest film series of all time. And, even though X-men made its money, more than 1 and 2, it hasnt dealt with Spidey numbers. X-Men 1 made $157,299,717. X-Men 2 made $214,949,694. X-men 3 is at $231,687,159. Those numbers are almost half of what Spidey made, so the expectation is higher.

Also, Spiderman 2 made less foreign and domestic than the first spiderman. And like I said, i love spiderman, the comic and the movies. But, i'm just trying to look at it as a fan of film period. Everytime a comic movie comes out, (i.e. Superman, X-Men 3), their boards are filled with "how long before it breaks all the records etc. ." As much as we want it to do well, and of course we think it deserves to beat Titanic, or all types of other record, we can't always assume the movies will be taken in by ALL types of audiences. Not all of the film goers are Spiderman or comic book fans. Just shining in with my opinion, so please dont yell at me too much.

I'm just asking for ppl to look at the big picture, and not the "AWE" moment of experiencing our favorite characters on screen.

we all just have to see it within the first 3 days.

EVERYONE. :up:

I'm going to say right now it won't.

I also say we won't expect it when the record is broken.
