I wonder if a Superman movie stays in limbo. I wonder if Warner would go with a Smallville movie to an end to the show. Similar to what they did with Trek:TNG...The show ended and then started right on with a movie. Actually, with the Justice League movie also in limbo. It would be cool to do a Justice League movie...with everyone. Can you imagine if they had a budget?

And before anyone says anything....Yes, I know its a pipe dream. But, hey you never know.

No, years ago maybe but now? They missed the chance

Maybe, as long as they don't call it Smallville: The Movie and it's firmly a Superman movie.

Maybe a made for t.v movie ( Like a two hour episode ) but not a
theater release.

I would have agreed with you. But, a Superman sequel or reboot seems to be in limbo. So I would think that this is an opportunity to keep Supes on the radar.

YEa as much as i would love a big motion picture movie for smallville its likely never going to happen. There is many folks out there that do not like smallville's take on the superman mythos. Though i would totally be on for a tv movie/direct to video.

I could see a "TV Movie" or direct to video, but not a Smallville theatrical release.

yea that is the more likely thing to happen if wb would want to do that. I would love to see it happen like how mgm been doing stargate dtv movies(a 3rd on the way and a first atlantis coming later this year). It would be a cool thing to do to keep the show going a bit once its over.

Depends on anyone's definition of a SV movie. Just taking the show as it is to the big screen I'd highly doubt it but doing a Superman movie with Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Michael Rosenbaum it's highly possible.
I wouldn't mind other actors from the show coming in as well as most of the choices made for iconic roles are spot on.
But even if it's just Tom and Erica I would be completly happy. There's always a chance as long as people don't give up.

yea will be nice, but with wb currently not knowing what the heck they want to do with the superman property superman is likely to be stuck in limbo for a long long time.

If the writers cant end the show on their own, after nine seasons, they havent been doing their jobs. Plain and simple.

^I hated the terminator theme song at the ended though. Not suited for smallville.

If it makes you feel any better, there is an amazing trailer on youtube which would make an awesome Smallville movie:

I know it's fake but it's probably the closest we'll ever get and pretty darn real looking.:cwink:

So when this movie coming out? :woot:
Seriously that was really, really good. Liked the effects on the names too :yay:

I say no chance and the reason why is the simple fact of money.

As I understand it the rights to produce a Superman live action movie belong to one group of producers while the rights to produce something on TV belong to another group.

If the TV producers were allowed to make a Movie then they would have to share money with the guys who have the movie rights. If the movie producers decided to go ahead and use the Smallville cast to make a movie then they would have to share money with the TV produces and the guys who developed the concept for TV.

If the movie produces develop their own story with their own cast then they do not have to share that revenue.

I might be wrong about it but that is how I understood the production rights issues involved.

actually i believe currently there is no set of producers who have the rights for superman on film. Its not like wonderwoman whos rights are in charge by joel silver.

Well that would simplify that part but still. If the current Smallville producers wanted to go for a movie they would still need to give a payday to Al and Miles because Smallville was their "concept." which could complicate things.

it could be unless when al/miles left the show they lost all creative control/rights.
