I have three dream endings to Smallville.

Clark is walking through Metropolis when some sort of accident happens. He then starts running and opens his shirt to reveal the Superman S.

We see a shot of Superman flying through Metropolis. It then pans down to a shot of Lex Luthor watching him.

Lois Lane goes to the roof of the Daily Planet because she's frustrated with something. We then get a shot of just Clark's head as he floats down near Lois. She then turns around and has a few words with him. After a brief conversation with him, she then holds up a recorder and says "How about an interview.....Superman". We then get a shot of Tom in the suit. End of series.

Those are my dream endings.

I actually wanted the end to be like this: Ma Kent and Lana are at the Kent house... then from the tv, we hear of a disaster in Metropolis... Lois on the screen reporting the events as they happen... Clark shows and does his thing. This is all seen through the TV, as if by Martha and Lana. Ma and Lana just look at each other with a small smile... and the show ends.

Lana being in the final shot of the series finale and not Clark is wrong on so many levels.

but it's appropriate... it takes the story back to Smallville, where it really should end... with the people who shaped Clark's life watching him fulfill his potential... in essence, the real heroes of the show. Likewise, Lex should be watching from where ever he is, as the antagonist who also shaped Clark into what he should become in the final shot of the series.

I like this idea because the climax of the final episode should not be an action sequence... it should be a cliffhanger to that action sequence. Because the climax is not Clark being superman, but Clark making the choice to be. Once made, there's is no reason to continue.

(this is not a vain attempt to get lana in the show, I dislike her, but her and Martha are the only two who have been supporting Clark's maturation (chole is too involved, and grey now, that she wouldn't fit) that are still alive and have been there since the beginning)

i have been watching it. i enjoy it too. dont know anything on the comic its based off of. but its a nice show.

It's based off Human Target, he's a private agent in the DCU. He first appeared in Action Comics, often teaming up with Superman and Batman.

I'm catching up on the episodes now, but it definitely lives up to the hype. Look who makes an appearance in Ep2:

The Dr Emil guy.

I am going to stand by my opinion that Clark needs to be in the last shot of Smallville. Martha and Lana may have played major roles in getting the character where he is, but the show still isn't about them. It's about Clark. I really do think he needs to be in the last shot of the series... in costume... flying. :)

If you want to take the series back to Smallville for the last scene/last shot, why not have him up-up-and-away'ing from the Kent Farm, flying into the sky, perhaps back towards the Metropolis skyline? It could be a companion shot, in a way, to the last shot of Season 2, where he drove off in the motorcycle towards the city.

I think the first reveal of Superman, just like most Superman origin stories, should be saving Lois in a very public way.

well i cant wait to see how they will close the show out.

I'm down, just as long as we don't get a pathetic half hearted attempt for them to do a full Superman episode. As i stated before, once he puts the costume on, the series should end within 45 seconds to a minute.

Sorry, Superfreak, but I gotta disagree with ya there. We've all been expecting that - the final minute of the show is Clark in the suit. But I feel that for the series finale, the episode should half be about Superman. It's the series finale. They're not going to screw this up.

For a while i had resigned myself to the idea that the series finale will probably not show much of Clark in the costume.

However... with the way the show has gone in the last season and a half alone (much more comic characters-and-stories heavy, almost entirely set in Metropolis, Clark wearing the \S/ and a proto-costume), I could very much see them showing us a lot more of Clark-as-Superman than anyone used to anticipate.

I really don't think we're going to see a full suit. Making a good looking Superman costume is really expensive, and to do that for just a couple minutes of an episode just doesn't seem feasible. I think a shirt-rip is the best we can expect.

Agreed!!! I've always wanted that to be the final scene as well. But over the years, when Millar and Gough, had the reigns, I had always heard it was just going to be a shirt rip or him flying off in the distance. And we wouldn't actually get to see him in the full gear.

But, I do want to add, that I literally jumped for joy when I heard about Season 10. I'm loving this season thus far, as well as S8. I wish I had the chance to come around more and discuss this stuff with you guys. I miss this place.:csad::woot:

Remember: she has already met the Blur, and spoken to him many more times, so it is not really the same.

Spoken to him? Yes

Having to be saved by "Superman" from falling from a building, in his red blue uniform with the S on the chest? No, nothing will like that will be the same.

Yeah... doesn't quite compare. :p

I'm really wondering whether it will be Welling in the Superman tights.. or some kind of stand-in wearing them with the face concealed?

Or will they be cgi-ed on Tom? I just can't fathom Tom agreeing to wear them, especially if they're made on a TV budget like the Halloween costumes in Absolute Justice.

i really doubt we will end with just the shirt rip and seeing the red/blue. Since we have already seen that in "Warrior" with his blur get up. So it would be stupid way to end the show. Plus for me i would hate if we only got to see him as full blown superman in like the last min or two of the finale episode. HE should be fully superman at the whole last episode and all that.

I didnt think the costumes looked bad at all for the jsa. They were pretty good for a tv show budget. Plus i am sure tom would wear a costume. Probably wont be a full on tights deal but if its slightly different he probably wouldnt mind it. Or if its a tights outfit and only for the last episode i doubt he would have an issue with it being its the last episode if thats the case.

well we know from the past tom was against "tights" outfits but we have seen him in other types of costumes through the years like dressed as zorro, to green arrow, to his present blur outfit. If its something styled like green arrow or the jl i would think tom would be more open to that type of style of a costume. But heck we dont know. Plus we dont know what plans are or how tom or others feel about things yet.

The leather-clad Green Arrow costume is vastly different from the Superman tights. Those suits were very expensive too, an investment for an entire season. SV's Superman suit sounds like a one shot tease in the final scene according to the current producers.

The Zorro outfit and the Blur 'costume' are essentially just normal clothes...
