I'm surprised they can still expect people to spend close to $400 on DVD's. If someones got that kind of money laying around for media you'd think it'd be blu-ray.

The 24 Complete Series box set also had a inflated SRP, but I believe it went on sale for under 200 when it came out.

Yeah, I mean at $350 for 10 season isn't really bad, since that makes it $35 a season, which is cheaper than the list price, but seeing as how many places, like Amazon sell the earlier ones within a $15-$25 price range, it's very likely that the series will be around $200 - $250.

I was wondering the same thing. It's not the exact same pic, but it looks like it was from the same shoot. But I really like how they added the jacket to it. Makes it look really convincing.

Yeah, I posted this pic on the last page of how it would look with the red jacket and it does make more sense from a visual standpoint to go with a blue jacket.

Personally, I really like this cover and the decision to use the red/blue jacket combo because thew series as a whole was about Clark Kent, and that's how we'll all recognize him from season 2 -8. Though I still hope that the season 10 box set used a pic of Superman.

I think the set will come out in November to take advantage of black friday/Christmas sales. There's no point in releasing it in September anymore since they don't have to coincide it with a new season.

The complete boxed set is coming out on DVD this fall - it is a 62 disc set and FINALLY includes some incredible special features!

It includes a Daily Planet Newspaper talking about one of Superman's Saves, interviews of the cast after filming the finale, 5 hours of unseen bonus features from earlier seasons and the unaired pilot of the Superboy Show.

My complaints - he's wearing the blue jacket over red shirt as opposed to what he wore throughout the majority of the series - blue shirt with red jacket. Also - where the hell is the bluray set!? Does anyone know how much this will cost btw? Talk away!

Must have...kinda upset I never really watched the show outside of a few episodes here and there (usually when other DC characters guest starred...)...

I would think so its a 62 disc set I am sure all single seasons features would be there. And that probably only takes up like 50 or so discs. Sorry on my math trying to think if 4-5 episodes per disc and each season set been like 6 disc how it breaks down.

Each season has 6 discs, so assuming that season 10 will follow the pattern, that would bring us to 60 discs, with 2 extra, most likely featuring the Superboy pilot and other special features.

Episode count aside, Rosey was officially done after Season 7, whereas Kristin's last season was technically Season 8.

But let's get back to the main point of this thread, which is *****ing about why this boxed set isn't coming to blu-ray!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I'm still rather upset about this. I was primed to drop $500 on it too. Guess my wallet's happy now. At least.

Yeah, I'm still pissed off about no blu-ray. I was ready to sell back my Smallville dvds so I could upgrade to blu-ray but I guess there's no point now. Doesn't even seem like they're getting ready for a blu-ray transfer anytime soon.
