So I wasn't sure if this was just for stunts, but apparently it's the real deal.

Current pictures of Snake-Eyes doing stunts (one where hes on top of a car, etc.) his helmet has facial features (i.e. a mouth, eyes, etc.)

No Snake-Eyes character I know has had a face on his mask. Thats Destro.

Just to be sure I went back to his release pick, and yup, the mouth is there. You have to look at the outline of his mask because the picture is mostly in shadow. You can see the outlines of his lips.

The costume aspect for the movie is now completely ruined for me....anyone else?

must see these alleged pics.

The mouth wrecks the costume totally. It looks so horrible. Tons of pics already out there.

ya, they're also cartoons, drawings and figurines. This is a movie, with real people, they need to see where they're going and they have to breathe too

Eyes are fine. All the figures, cartoons and comics had eyes for the character. My issue is with the mouth. Not a single Snake-Eyes incarnation had a mouth.

And no, it's not the actors mouth so he can breathe, its the masks' mouth. Its a physical mouth made into the mask for no reason. The mouth can't move, it's just there.

The only time Snake-Eyes had a mouth was when it was pressed into his mask, and even then you couldn't see it at all.

Apart from the mask, I don't like his pants. He's got rubbermask, rubber torso and arms and then, those black cargo pants. wtf, it just looks weird.

You stand corrected. Sorry.

Sorry, that's different. His mask is covering his mouth which makes an indentation.

This is different than the actual costume which has a stupid actual open mouth part molded in, and it does look terrible.

I think of Catfish when I look at that stupid goddamn Snake Eyes mask. Garbage.

It's weird the parallels between the Transformers movie and the GI Joe movie. People complained about the designs, giving Optimus a mouth, the story, and the things changed from the cartoon, the director not listening to the fans. And if it is a hit like Transformers be prepared for the new fanbase that will come on here and tell you guys to move on and stop whining.

so you mean there is a moulded mouth like a power ranger mouth

have you ever seen a real masked person, they don't always look to stracth so they mould a face mask for them to have on...

even spidey's mask in the film's in reality was actually more like a helmet to keep that comic 'head shape' everyone expects.

maybe they tried it without a mouth and it came across as inhuman so they gave him one, it's no big deal really.

This reminds me of a crapper version of the prime lips thread...

snake eyes looks like a joke.

bring me the head of stephen sommers.

I think that at certain angles and in darker lights Snake Eyes looks ok , However when it is lighter his costume looks poorly done. If they were going to give him cargo pants at least give him the knee pads and higher boots to make it look more like some of his comic variants instead of having a tigh form fitting rubber top and them loose/baggy pants just doesn't look right. The body suits some of the others are wearing are closer in resemblance to his uniform than his own. Also please do away with the mouth. There are so many variants of him that could be done and the one they tried for is one of my favorites. But with this look I would have rather preffered the turtle neck with the balaclava and visor on cargo pants with knee pads and high boots.

By adding a mouth, they really ruined the look of Snakeyes imo. It's even worse than the glasses for Baroness. It's too bad, because early on it seems like Snakeyes has the best look, but they decided to tinker with something that isn't broken.

I begin to have less and less faith about this movie.

Ridiculous. I remember when the first Spider-Man movie came out, I realized how awkward the dialogue scenes were when he had to talk with his mask on since it didn't have a mouth hole like Batman's.

But that problem isn't an issue here because SNAKE EYES DOESN'T F**KING TALK.

Sommers, if "Van Helsing" wasn't a certification of your idiocy, this certainly is.

I suspect the problem isn't so much with talking. Rather, given the much less permeable material they're using (I think it's more or less a rubber suit), I think the issue was more with allowing Ray Park to breathe.

Yeah, because we don't have the technology today to make little things like that disappear in post.[/sarcasm]
