I'm not gonna lie, I don't like the anthem sung in any other language except ours and didn't care for the commercial. It just reminds me of the immigrants that come here and don't make the effort to adopt our culture, more so the language. If I'm going to live in another country you bet your ass I'm going to learn their customs and language, just as I did when I spent 4 months in Rome.

My state was Spanish longer than it has been American and parts of the state (especially down south) are still primarily Spanish speaking.

There isn't one American culture. Different parts of the country were colonized by Spanish, French, English, Dutch, Swedish, Polynesians, and Russians at various points. Not to mention the Native American nations that were already here long before the Europeans. Texas culture is different than Hawaiian culture which is different than Maine culture.

Multiculturalism is destroying this country. America is a melting pot and it is so because people come for the American Dream. This commercial was a disgrace and Coca Cola should apologize. They could have used their 'message' better by showing our troops all over the world holding Coca Cola. I am so sick of this attitude that we are supposed to allow anyone at anytime come to our country and instead of assimilating to our culture, we have make concession for them! NOT in MY country! Borders, Language, Culture!!! The only way the free-ist country in the world can survive...American speak English and everyone should have to learn English to be a citizen...

It's cool that you tried to make an effort to reason with someone like that, but unfortunately it is a complete waste of time.

Aside from public shaming and humiliation, there really is no point in trying to reason with someone so catastrophically stupid. They aren't going to change their mind.

I'd recommend saving yourself some time and not engaging an individual like that. Anyone that equates the existence and presence of other cultures with those cultures being bent on "expanding" and "usurping" the now "native" population isn't going to be convinced by anything you say. Or engage in a rational way for that matter. These types of people have bought into the fundamental right's propaganda that non-whites are trying to wrestle the country from them hook, line and sinker.

I don't really have a problem with a country protecting it's sovereignty and attempting to keep their culture whole, but it starts getting ridiculous when they see plots on "their" homeland around every corner. It's especially rich when it comes from stereotypical entitled white trash that want to blame immigrants for trying to improve their own circumstances.

Yeah, she never messaged me a response. I guess she doesn't want to debate she just would like to spew her views and not care about what others have to say.
