So... How About That Coke Commercial...

The only time I get angry is when I call a number and am asked to press 1 for English.
And how would you handle the customers calling your customer service line that all speak different languages?

For Navajo, press 1.
For Cree, press 2.
For Cherokee, press 3.
For Blackfoot, press 4.....

If people immigrate to another country that speaks a different language, they should choose to want to learn that language. They shouldn't be forced.

There is some extenuating circumstances though. I work in construction and it's actually dangerous to have people on site who don't speak a lick of English. For example say there is something about to fall and you shout "watch out!" or whatever. And the person who doesn't understand what i'm saying is just shrugging their shoulders.

At work/school or in any official capacity (unless the job/class entails to speak other languages) it should I agree be done in English as default.
This stupid commercial isn't saying it shouldn't.:whatever:

It's entertainment recognizing people/kids in America did and do speak other languages, and are still Americans.

Sushmitha - "...the message that we're sending through this video is so beautiful that were all the same, we just have different backgrounds and that's ok we are all Americans.."

Canada gets by just fine.

The fact of the matter is, on a federal level, the United States does not have a ratified official language. You don't even have to vote in English.

French Canada doesn't want to be part of the rest of Canada. Not very united.

This was a hardcore conservative's FB post on my friends wall who is a liberal. On the matter.

If you're wondering...yes she has about 15 photos of bald eagles colored in the American Flag and multiple "one man one woman" images on her Facebook profile.

Multiculturalism is destroying this country. America is a melting pot and it is so because people come for the American Dream. This commercial was a disgrace and Coca Cola should apologize. They could have used their 'message' better by showing our troops all over the world holding Coca Cola. I am so sick of this attitude that we are supposed to allow anyone at anytime come to our country and instead of assimilating to our culture, we have make concession for them! NOT in MY country! Borders, Language, Culture!!! The only way the free-ist country in the world can survive...American speak English and everyone should have to learn English to be a citizen...

so, they dont want other cultures being represented in america, so instead she suggests a coca-cola ad featuring American troops, in foreign countries, promoting american consumerism with the most iconographic american product of them all?

good job.

And it's back!:woot:
I guess I don't watch enough TV I've only ever seen it twice back then and again today, both times before the SB.
Some google smart-speaker add, just had a similar multicultural-american spin.
...and now airbnb(had to look it up) ran "no mater who you are etc... #weaccept
These are more than common.

I wonder if we'll get another wave of outcries?

With a President doing his damndest to legitimize white nationalism? You better believe it.

Last vote for referendum was in 1995. And yes it was a close vote. But recent polls (October 2016) find 81% of Quebecers believe the province should be apart of Canada.
