The new use for the MK imprint, according to Joe Q after they restructured it just before Spider-man: Reign was for prestige format minis that are not meant to be taken as canon. They are Out of continuity, but may use it to help enhance the story. Requiem, just like Reign is not a "The End" book, nor is it pre or post Annihilation, it is just an out of continuity tale about the Surfer.

Well, he was only there to get Reed's help in diagnosing him, Sue was all like "Uh-uh *****, I stay with my man" and Surfer was like "Ok, you can stay".

I disagree. As i said; Surfer and Ben have come to blows several times in the past, and then there was that whole situation between Surfer and Alicia...i think it is perfectly feasible for The Surfer to feel uncomfortable around Ben and his little buddy, the Torch, as opposed to Reed and Sue. Reed has helped the Surfer out in the past.

I guess I don't get it.

Everything prior to this story describes the change into the surfer as a bodywide change on the molecular level,.... not just a shiney skin.

Everything prior to this story describes a suite of powers that the surfer has access to that includes adjusting, tweaking or absorbing that silver coating.

Everything prior to this story has the material of the board and the material of the surfer being transmutable to energy for transport, phasing, and size changing.

Suddenly:
The silver coating is being treated as a high tech shell in need of repair.

The Stories in two limited series where norrin had dispensed with the silver coating BECAUSE HE COULD to do more "human" things like thump Mantis are gonna be ignored.

Years of continuity where the surfer has stated that he and the board are one and when the board was damaged or destroyed the surfer RECREATED it with a wave of his hands,.. which underlines the fact that the surfer intimately knows how he himself operates to the point where this story couldn't happen - Will also be ignored?

I accept that I'm the only one not liking this story,.. but they have hooked me,.. I'll pay to see which of the three endings I expect will happen.
