so how many of you have written your own movie/comic/tv show?

I came up with a great idea for Freddy vs. Jason 2 back in 2003 involving Ash and the Book of the dead. I had no idea of script writing and did alot of research on it and got, about 20 or so pages into it after I kinda gave up on it. But I let loose alot of my ideas online over the years and I even noticed that alot of those were used in the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic series. Makes me wonder...

I'm in the proccess of finishing off my first comic. Got some artists mildly interested. Hopefully going to get it self published early next year and may go round the cons. Fingers crossed anyhow.

This is after several attempts to write stories that have started off decent then fallen into utter insanity. Anyone who remembers when I posted my stuff on here can tell you how quickly I tend to drop and pick up plots.

I actually wrote an X-men fan fic that I posted here that a lot of people liked

I wouldn't worry about it. I am of the school of thought that believes there are no more new story ideas just different takes on old ones.

It's the 'different takes' that could get ripped off.

If you are good at your craft people can steal from you and still not produce the quality work you are capable of....screenwriters who steal are not quality writers...if they steal your idea they still have to turn that into a 100+ script...if they are lazy enough to steal they are too lazy to type that up.

Tell that to Sophia Stewart, whose 1981 manuscript (that she once sent a copy of to the Wachowski brothers) bares a striking resemblance to the first Matrix movie.

I have written a few feature length scripts and so far have 4 more WIP. I am hoping to become a scriptwriter after uni :)

tell that to Grant Morrison who feels the movie ripped off his Invisibles...or Strange Days, Dark City, The Truman show, or Doctor Who that had an episode that involved a matrix, which was a massive computer system that people connected to by connecting tubes to the head...or Harlan Ellison's 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' or Thomas Pynchon's "The Crying of Lot 49" or William Gibson's "Neuromancer"

all this proves is that there are no new stories just new takes on them and sometimes we come up with the same ideas

my idea was 2 ideas from a tv show and a movie merged into 1
