I figured since I about to turn 25 in a couple of days, I figure this would be a good place for us to rant about those who are still young, but are growing older once we hit that certain age.

So yeah, I'm basically hitting that middle point of the twenties, and I have yet to do anything that would make in the next 5 years?

I'm turning 25 in June, and it SUCKS!
However I don't feel 25, so that's good.

You're only as young as you feel. Sometimes I feel like I'm five, other times I feel like I'm ninety.

Your body starts to slow down when you hit about 27. You still have a good 2 years.

I'll be 29 in about 4 months.

Sonova... I just turned 27 on Monday and I've already gained three horses and a duck in weight.

God dammit, turning 27 in October!
Got the love handles creeping back over the last year, gotta get my ass to Tristar.

So when I hit 27, its all downhill from here. :( At least I don't have gray hair... yet.

Fudge it, if Randy Couture was able to hang with the best of them late in his 40s then there is no way I'm going to count myself out of life 23 years too early!

I turned 22 a few months ago, and for some reason I feel like I wasted every one of those years, especially since I'm going to finish college soon and I have like no plans of what I'm going to do afterwards.

STOP WHINING!!!

Really, who said that? One of the world's most renowned ultrarunners didn't start until he was in his 30s, and he's well into his 40s now running a marathon every day. I'd always heard that the human body is at its strongest between 30 and 40. Guys especially are still growing in their 20s.

Anyways, I'm a little past 25 now and it seems to be a good age. You learn more about yourself and how to handle the world. (Depends on you though, there are some friends of friends in their 40s who still act like they're in high school...)

It's a little weird when your college friends start getting married and having kids, though. I don't feel old enough to do that still!

In terms of stamina, your metabolism does slow down a bit once you reach your late 20's.

Obviously if you work out like a freak in your 30's and were lazy in your 20's, you'll more than make up for that gradual drop.

Dude, that's how everybody feels when they graduate college. :funny: You learn to just go with the flow.

I'm 24 and I'm starting to feel old. But I think most of that is just due to the health issues I'm dealing with.

Yeah, I hope Arnie set him straight. It's amazing the angsty crap that bothers recent college graduates. Wait five years, SpideyVille, and you'll find out what real problems are.

Yeah, I've been to 3 of my friends' weddings over the past 3 years, and one of the couple just had a baby last year, and it really made me put my life into perspective. Its made me feel like I've been behind on the game, even though I'm not really in a rush for all of that stuff.

But with the way most kids are these days, doing everything at a younger age, it makes me feel like I'm not where I wanted to be at this point in my life.

I'm actually much happier now than when I was in college, but that's because I felt like everybody was 10000x smarter than me in my school and it was a blow to my intellectual self-esteem. :funny: I managed to hold down a decently-paying job with a great workgroup so these last 5 years have been pretty problem-free.

Haha, its thoughts like that that make me not want to grow up anymore. I wish I could've just stayed a kid forever.

That is so not true. People wait much longer to get married and have children than they did 30 years ago. If this were 1970 half the people you knew would be married, instead of two or three.

That still greatly depends on the people you roll with. My friend's almost 30 and her parents were in their 30s when they had her. My mom had me when she was 26, and it was still pretty young for her social circle. Whereas I had a recent housemate from a poorer demographic and half of his friends were married and had 3 kids by 21. :oldrazz:

The big 40 is less than two years away. I don't bemoan it too much. I feel great and I've achieved most of my life's goals. I certainly thank God for those blessings.

There are only two things I miss about being young. #1 is the speed of recovery between workouts. #2 is I miss some of the things I used to wear (jerseys in particular) in which I no longer feel comfortable because of my age.

However, those seem like small prices to pay.

You younger guys are funny. I'll be 31 next month and I still feel like I did when I was a teenager. Age is a number and if you take care of yourself you will always look and feel young.

I dunno, man. I'm 28 and I feel much rougher than I did when I was a teenager. But I probably just need to hit the gym more and eat a bit better. Also my job requires me to wake up at 5:30 every day, so I'm pretty much perpetually tired.
