2006 wasn't a great year for music. There was nothing really impressive or groundbreaking. Well, atleast not in mainstream music. I know underground music is a different story.

I will say, however, that the biggest shocker of 2006 was Justin Timberlake. After 7 years he finally releases a song that I like. And, I'm not talking about dick in a box.

Best albums? Easy:

"Ultimate Showdown" did kick ass, yes.

Hmmm, wow, tough one. I didnt buy a lot of cd's this year but I liked Continuum by John Mayer and Sam's Town by The Killers was alright. My favorite probably being Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Young Joc, The album new joc city is filled with hits

I love that song but it came out in 05

Stadium Arcadium was a great album in '06, and for best song, I'd have to give Weird Al's "White and Nerdy" some serious consideration.

I don't know! It's a great song, but I don't think its the best.

Not all released in 2006, but 2006 was when I discovered them:

Imogen Heap - Speak For Yourself
The Feeling - Twelve Stops & Home
The Automatic - Not Accepted Anywhere

Meh, I'm not sold on their album. I can't find it in my heart to like any song other than the one the released as a single.

I have no idea who any of those people are! I'm so out of it. I think 2001 was the last time I followed music on a daily basis.

Imogen Heap is a bit niche. I was introduced to her by a friend. The Feeling aren't huge, but are pretty well known over here in the UK, and the same goes for The Automatic.

Nice choices  saw The Automatic a few months back, and The Feeling are such a cool band

For me, OKGo did it. Due to their treadmill greatness.

**** yeah. You on the Little Room by any chance?

Plus the Red Hot Chilis and Arctic Monkeys deserve a mention.
