In what ****ed up bizarro world do you live in?
You cannot judge a "pop" song the way you judge art. Pop songs are like popcorn flicks. They aren't trying to win awards, just trying to entertain you in a shallow way. In that vein Britney Spears and the Spice Girls are excellent...it's when you judge their product in comparison with actual music that it fails.

So while I don't like that stuff in any way...it actually succeeds with what it sets out to do.

The example I would give is like Christina Aguilera. Look at her, she is so talented in singing...she's even done some side work that's every bit as good as the songs people have nominated on here. But her pop work by and large, like "Dirrty", sucks. But when she sings a song like "Dirrty" she is not trying to impress anyone with her singing ability, she is trying to make women jirate their asses is men's crotches at nightclubs.

there weren't many cds that made me want to go out and buy them this year.

i listen to just about everything, so i'll try any song once.

carrie underwood had the best selling album in 2006 and i'm probably one of the only ppl on here that listen to country so i'm sure yall could care less.

i like the album though. there's not many albums that i can enjoy from track 1 to the last track without skipping any. that was one of them.
