Which ones do you feel work? Which do you hate?

I'm fond of the Superman's never killed thing going back into effect. He no longer executed those three Kryptonian's under Byrne.

He was also Superboy, and interacted with the Legion, which I love.

Thoughts?

Best retcon is that the Pre-Crisis Earths are more or less back, and that was the only continunity DC ever had that worked. The Post-Crisis Clutterearth was a mess.

Anything else come to mind?

i dont like the lex having lived in smallville business.

The return of Superboy is a terrible idea, as is all the Lex in Smallville stuff (although that sort of came back beforehand).

I don't mind moving back Wonder Woman's arrival so she's a founder again, since they kept Perez's basic outline intact (and then proceeded to butcher it in the present).

I'm on the fence about Joe Chill. The way Loeb wrote about Batman not knwoing who his parents killer is added a great dilemna to his detective skills. On the other hand, if it was between Chill and Metallo as the killer, I'll take Chill anyday. Or the Joker for that matter. I really enjoyed the way BB portrayed Chill, but that only worked because of the way they worked Falcone into it.

Yeah, I much prefer the irony of the World' Greatest Detective not being able to solve the most important crime in his life.

I agree that I do like the fact of Superman not having killed Zod and the bunch too.

I would have liked them to leave out Batman and Superman from being co-founders of the original league though. It was kinda cool knowing the team started without the two most popular heroes.

Yeah, I hate that one, until they can explain who the hell Superboy's Legion is, as opposed to Supergirl's Legion.

I'm against the Chill thing. It wasn't between Chill and Metallo--Metallo was a red herring, wasn't he? I mean, I'm cool with Chill being the killer, but I'm not cool with Batman having caught him.

Crap. I was just getting into DC right before IC and now it's all a big ? for me.
No, this is actually a great time for that, because they're still going out of their way to tell you what the retcons are.

The multiple retcons to the JLA's origin suck. So far we've seen that Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were there for the League's founding with Wondie replacing Black Canary, then that Black Canary was also there alongside Wonder Woman, then that Superman and Batman came later, then that Superman introduced the Martian Manhunter to an already-formed League... it's become so absurd that the JLA basically just doesn't have an origin at this point. All we know for sure is that at some point in the past, some superheroes got together and decided a Justice League would be a good idea.

Or they'll say they did it on purpose and blame it on what's his face eating away at the Multiverse.

Heh, Mr. Mind bite one: the trinity founded the League. Bite two: the trinity and the Year One group founded the League. Bite three: Wonder Woman replaced Black Canary, but the rest of the Year One group was there. Et cetera, ad nauseam.

The Retcon Chomp.
A Retcon Chomp is easier to believe than a Retcon Punch. Both a stretch, but if a guy was really eating the universe, I can accept that there would be some weird consequences.

Which issues have we seen all those different origins in? The only one that's jumping to mind is JLA #0.

JLA #0, the origin of the JLA backup in Countdown, the current JLA Classified arc... possibly somewhere else, but I think those are the ones I read.

I just realized that I forgot to mention the crap DC pulled with Batgirl OYL. Regardless of how they tried to explain it, it still sucked big time.

 It's still "Clutterearth"...

Not happy with them forcing Black Canary out of the Founders. :down BOOO!
