Ok. I just had a huge brainwave, and i'm organizing my thoughts...

Ok. So... If you're like me, and don't like all this crap that's going on with Spidey right now, I believe I know a way to fix it, without any retcons. Someone may of already posted this idea, and If they did I'm sorry, but theres too many damn threads to go through and find it. So, onto the idea.

Remeber The Sentry? you know that new guy who forced the entire planet (and even himself) to just Forget he exsisted? Get what I'm saying? Maybe he could just make everyone forget about spidey unmasking. I know some of you like it, bit personally I don't, and that's just a fun little idea I had to make things better (to me).

Someone mentioned The Sentry somewhere here on the boards.

And it was said in an interview with Kevin Smith that Marvel has already worked out a plan to put the secret identity back to normal.

Sounds like Marvel.

im gonna be childish and say i mentioned this idea first (welll, i mentioned it when the comic was just about to come out)

kudos to me

But yeah, i think this is a likely idea. Having taken more hints though i think (seeing as it's fair knowledge peter parker is entwined with spider-man anyway) that they'll just say peter was doing him a favour or something. Having said that apparently he uses his powers out of costume in a crowd (to defend himself) in ASM 533, so i guess that idea wouldn't work...

Maybe they'll do it the way Tony Stark did it.

"The world no longer believes I'm Spider-Man, so I'd appreciate it if you guys would just keep it under wraps for now."

Or whatever. I certainly don't remember an explanation as to how Tony's identity became secret again. I have no hope for Spider-Man.

Just have Peter get someone to put on his costume, and swing by during a public press conference or something. that trick usually works

Not to mention the fact that he's friend with Doc Strange and is owed a favour by an Asgardian God.

I dont know if anyone else has thought of this idea, but Peter could get one of Reeds devices and travel to an alternate reality where he still has a secret identity and "bump off" that worlds Spider-man and take over his life... Now that would be a novel solution to the problem.

Personally, if they used the idea of a Spidey swinging by while Peter's at a public conference or something... I'd like to see Ben Reilly again! I mean, if DC can bring back Jason Todd then why can't Marvel get Ben back?

Link?

Why do Marvel write stories with back doors in them??? If they believe that unmasking Spiderman is the right way to go they should stand by that decision. I don't like it personally but I don't want to see it wiped out by the end of the year, that will be a waste of my time and money.

I'm sick of so called 'life changing' storylines that only have 6 months impact on a character's life. By already planning to go back to the accepted status quo of Spiderman having a secret identity hey are reversng nearly 2 years of Peter's life. I think a public Peter needs to be explored properly, with stories and angles that accurately reflect the truly momentous nature of that revelation at the end of CW2

I don't think Marvel ever had any intention on keeping Spidey's identity public, even through the end of Civil War. It happened in issue 2 of 7 so there is still a ton of story left.

Shhhh... Or the next Spider-Man book will have your name down as my co-writer... :doom:

Magic. Hell if anything peter may be found not to be spiderman...

Yea can I also get a Link to Kevin Smith saying that "Marvel has a plan already for the unmasking" to be erased or something.

I honestly can't see any logical way for this to be taken back. Marvel dropped the ball with it. Like I've said before in other threads, Peter would have never risked MJ and Aunt May like he is by doing that. Revealing himself is so out of character it's ridiculous,

Sounds like dumb @$$ Joe Q.
I agree as well. I do find myself reading alot more DC since Civil War has come out though.

There's a lot of ways it could be done: Prof X planet wide mind wipe, Dr. Strange casts a spell, cosmic cube, Reed Richards invents something, on and on.
Of course Marvel had a backdoor ready, they're not idiots.

Hmm, I never really thought of the cosmic cube, but that could be really dangerous. :o

One person..... Madame Webb=read SSM#27

the ol....Peter Parker stood in for me trick??

If it worked, that might be interesting...because I suppose Spider-Man would be wanted for fraud or reckless endangerment or something after that.
