Entire bridge on the facility? Instead he sends a bunch of mutants who gets cured. Wouldn't it have been easier if he just dropped the whole bridge on it and be done with it. Plus, why didn't he just get Phoenix to destroy the whole place? It just seem like he was wasting manpower by sending the pawns first when the stronger mutants could have gotten the job done with far less casualties.

Because it wouldn't be as exciting as him marching his army to Alcatraz. Not the Hollywood way, I guess.

Because a bunch of other mutants were standing on the bridge (Magneto's smart enough to hover over it), and while I can see colliding with the land or the guard post not causing huge problems, colliding with the cure center at high speeds probably would have caused one hell of an accident, and injured or killed many of his Brotherhood.

Maybe he couldn't hold it any more. It was, after all, a section of bridge.

Why?

Because if he did do that, we wouldn't have gotten that AWESOME battle sequence.

People are *****ing about the runtime as it is... dropping the bridge on the facility would have cut about 20 minutes off the movie.

maybe becuase it's a movie and they want it to last longer and add more towards it.

Please don't think about the final battle too closely or you'll start to notice that it makes NO sense whatsoever.

Phoenix served no purpose in the film. She was a contrived plot device to show off visual effects.

Don't give the script too much credit. ;)

They wanted to get the kid out remember
No, they wanted to kill him. Magneto sent Juggernaut to kill Leech.

If Magneto was going to do that, then why did he build an army? He didn't need an army to destroy the cure.

So, the question now is, why did he build the army and what's the army for?

To answer those questions, you'll probably have to watch the movie again. It's all there and it makes a very bold statement.
