Action-Adventure Sonic 3... and Shadow

That’s why a TV series is hard when your lead is a CGI character. They don’t have the budget so they have to fill with humans for the rest of the episode runtime.

$4 million away from dethrone Detective Pikachu for the #2 spot on the Highest Grossing Video Game Movie list

Can it muster up another $54 million to get it across the $500 million mark? I think it can but I think at this point its going to be the international market making the big push. Domestically its pretty apparent that its slowing down.

I gotta admit I thought it would have had a bit more steam in weeks 4-6. Pity, I was hoping for somewhere near $600 WW. But hey if we get to $500 WW that's nothing to sneeze at ether especially in todays movie economy.

Sonic 3 has done it!

With its current WW gross of $462.5 Million...it is now the 2nd Highest Grossing VG movie! (YAY)

It is now only $17 Million WW from cracking the Top 10 Highest Grossing Films WW of 2024

That's actually pretty clever.

Would have been nice if the WW total had a 5 in front of it but $462m is almost 4x their production budget so Paramount should be very happy with this. As long as the budgets for these stay under control, these Sonic movies have an audience that will make them profitable.

Yeah I expect these budgets to stick between $125 - $150 million now

Is Mobius canon still? 🤔

Not really...BUT in the novelization of Sonic 2 Knuckles calls Sonic "Son of Mobius"

Plus Mobians is the best term describe the sonic animal characters could ever come up with....SEGA of Japan is just stubborn

Finally saw the movie. I never thought that I'd get emotional watching Eggman and Shadow sacrifice their lives on film. The acting, visuals, and background music were all top notch for that sequence. However, one thing that did bug me was how a bus just magically appears in a shot with Agent Stone as he's watching Eggman's final farewell video.

Also, I was actually surprised to find out how much of the film was filmed in front of a blue screen. Overall, the film was definitely better than the previous two, which is a rarity when it comes to a film trilogy.

Although I was sad to see Jim Carrey's Eggman go, I really hope that they don't resurrect him for the fourth film. It'll really cheapen his grand exit from this film.

Well according to the concept art for the film he's back.

I mean the whole thing was basically a Chaos Control explosion

4 is based on Sonic CD, so time travel shenanigans.
