Watched this again at home and apart from the wedding stuff which still feels misplaced this sequel really holds up. That finale is pure Sonic goodness especially but I loved the temple/ocean set piece also.

Never would have thought I would enjoy a Sonic sequel more than a Taika Waititi Thor sequel in the same year but it happened in 2022.

As I said when the movie came out, the dumb Alvin and the Chipmunks-type humor and subplots is what is keeping these films from reaching greater heights.
