Went to see it yesterday with my son and thought it was excellent. He loved it. That's a solid 3/3 for the trilogy, I hope they make some more movies and they measure up just as well.

The cast was great all round, but Jim Carrey - man, he was something else. He really elevates the comedy/zany side of the films and they wouldn't be the same without him at all. As fun and funny as Sonic is, he still comes across more like a slightly naive kid at times so you need that more mature evil genius character to play off against and to balance out the characters - and Jim Carrey does that job with 200% effort.

Mon & Tues's daily BO reporting hasn't been reported that I can see...but I've been seeing some tweets that Sonic grossed 8-9 million on Wed and right now its around $160 Domestically.

It took Sonic 2 24 days to get to $160 and at 91 days it was at $190.8 Million domestically.

IF the numbers are on point and were at $160 mil only 14 days into release. We are EASILY looking at $200 plus. Hell we could be around $195 by next Monday.

Numbers came in yesterday and we are confirmed at $160.5 Million going into Thursday. I'd wager we tag another 5-7 million for thursday. Weekend projections seem to be around 20 million. Sonic 3 has the chance to get close to, match or surpass Sonic 2's Domestic total of $190 mil (which took 90 days to reach) by the end of the Weekend.

It need $24.5 Million to do so.

Internationally it needs $126 million more to pass Sonic 2 but theres still a bunch of countries were it hasn't been released yet.

I only saw it once but yes I did enjoy that one more actually. I’m also not the biggest fan of the first one so I’ll pass or wait for streaming for the fourth.

Deadline's Weekend Projections

1. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Par) 3,746 (-23) theaters, Fri $6.9M (-45% from prev Friday), Sat $8.9M, Sun $5.3M 3-day $21.2M (-44%), Total $187.5M/Wk 3
   As Nancy noted, the trilogy has clocked past the $1B mark at the worldwide box office.

Hoping this crosses 500m but I think this definitely surpasses Sonic's ww haul when its finished. Definitely hitting 450m I think.

Oh I think it will hit $500. Its still has a few countries to open up in. I think it opens in China this week as well. Plus I think think domestically i can still pull in about $50 million at the BO.

Sonic 2 was at $141.2 Million after 17 days while Sonic 3 is at $187.5 Million at 17 days. That's $41 million more than 2 and 2 capped out at $190.8 after 90 days in theatres. SO i think my guess of around $50 mil more for 3 by the time it leaves theatres is on track.

Right now were looking at a projected BO of $187.5 million domestic. Only needs 4 million to pass Sonic 2.

Yeah this was a lot of fun. Fowler has basically made these superhero movies and they're all the better for it. I love how committed Reeves is to voicing the character as well as Elba as Knuckles and Schwartz as Sonic. It's not just a payday for them they actually put effort in.

Shadow was great here, his backstory was handled perfectly as was his story arc. Carrey is a entertaining as ever, possibly even more so in a dual role . The action was great and that 3rd act was something else.

I am not sure this tops the 2nd movie for me but it had less bloat that's for sure. I have very few criticisms. One being a waste of Krysten Ritter and another was I wish Knuckles got a bit more action, especially after having his ass handed to him by Shadow.

After grossing $1.7 mil on Monday and $1.9 mill on Tuesday - Sonic has Domestically grossed $191.3 Million passing Sonic 2's $190.8 Million in 1/5 the time in cinemas. No idea how much it will make in the long run domestically. It is still $66 million Internationally behind Sonic 2 but I imagine Sonic 3 will pass Sonic 2 WW in a couple of weeks as it only needs $65 Million more.
