Morbius Sony announces a Morbius movie in development!

When is The Spot and Big Wheel getting their own spin offs?

Forget them. I want dat Puma spin-off.

Well, I give Sony this: they're at least thinking about building out this world of theirs instead of presumably just betting it all on Venom or Silver and Black. Though like the Venom film, I wager there are tons who want it dead from the start, whether because it's Sony, because it's not in the MCU or countless other reasons.

But I'm curious who will direct. I can't recall seeing Morbius adapted to screen- whether small or big- since the '94 Spider-Man cartoon.

Like I said, MCU Spidey will be left fighting Hydro Man and Big Wheel at this point.

Venom, fine, give him his own film, but Morbius, Kraven, Mysterio, etc? Please, no.

You know... when Sony announced the Venom solo movie I thought, "Eh, it's a dumb idea, but at least he's a cool and popular character, so I guess it kinda makes sense?"

And when they announced the Silver Sable/Black Cat team up movie I tought, "Eh, it's a VERY dumb idea, but female-led superhero movies are such a rarity that I guess it kinda makes sense?"

But Morbius.

"From the writers of Power Rangers, Dracula Untold and The Last Witch Hunter"

So it's sure to have an amazing, memorable plot then?

Who tf will spidey even fight if the mcu if Sony wants to make movies on his villains? What a stupid ****ing idea to make movies on a hero’s villains and not feature the hero. What’s the point of them making a deal if they just wanted to make there own stupid universe again. Are they so blind as to not realize people want to see spiderman fight bad guys?

I'm personally a little bit excited, as I'm a big fan of Morbius' solo comic adventures. I personally would have liked a Netflix series better, but hey, if Sony does end up with a decent product with Venom, that mat be sufficient reason to be somewhat amped for a Morbius-flick, who I think is more apt for a solo film treatment than Mysterio or even Kraven. Still, the writers for the project can be a bit of a hold back on stronger excitement.

Sigh, fine. At this point I've resigned myself to these. This is better than Kraven to me, worse than Black and Silver and Black and Silver isn't great.

If its done as an R rated horror film then I'm interested.

Pass I have zero interest in a Morbius solo. They are pulling hard for these spin offs.

I'm actually pretty sold based on the writers.

At this point there will be no more villains to introduce in solo-Spidey films.

When is Sony going to learn that these characters aren't very interesting if they don't have Spider-Man to play off of?

YEEESSSS! been dying for a Morbius film since the first Blade movie.
Make it R-Rated, cast Joel Edgerton in the role and lets get a super villain sequel to Warrior!

its almost like sony want to destroy spiderman's cinematic cred

Spiderman's not exactly hurting in the rogue's gallery department. Black Cat, venom, and Morbius, characters who have had publication lives away from Spidey, is far from the end of Spider-villains.

The problem is that Sony wants to make all villain solo movies to create some stupid universe.

This is a bad idea. If those are the best writers Sony could find, then they're in deep trouble.

The guy who wrote Arrival also wrote A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, The Thing prequel, and Final Destination 5 before writing Arrival. The guy who wrote Green Lantern wrote Logan. The writer of the Twilight movies ran Jessica Jones. It not like these movies get made on spec, they are wrote under instruction, both the good ones and the bad ones
