South Carolina plans license plate for Christians

My brother and I went to a Jewish preschool, similarly because it was the best one in the area. We just went ahead and participated in Chanukah, Passover, etc. ceremonies, respecting that it was the Temple's school. We had a good time and learned about other religions. I don't see what's so terrible about this. If that was actually how it was put, then yeah it wasn't very polite, but still.

My sister went to a Jewish preschool, and most of my friends growing up were Jewish, and learning about other religions and customs was never a problem.

The problem here is that's exactly how it was put to her when she asked. And my friend isn't one of these people who would try to make them say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" and stuff like that. She's fine with him learning about Christmas and being at at Christmas party, since she's been to plenty of them herself.

But the teacher did shut them down with those exact words, as if her 3-year-old bringing in something to celebrate his own religion would eternally damage the other children. It made them feel like they didn't belong there and were not welcome. She was really upset about it.

How about

YIELD

Before Zod

And I would.

Stop signs with motion-activated video screens in them playing Hammer time when a car pulls up?

I find nothing wrong with it. But, why not just get a fish?

So, what - I don't get my appropriated Dawkins and Marx adorned license plate?

Gyp.

I don't care if Christians get these gaudy plates, personally. This is the part I have a problem with:

While individuals can ask the DMV to print plates for other faiths -- for a $4,000 fee -- the request would be subject to significant limits and rules not imposed for the Christian plate. Other tags could feature a religious symbol -- such as the Star of David -- but no words would be allowed.

So the have specific limits and laws pertaining to license plates... except for Christians. What makes them special that they can circumvent rules set up by the state. Why don't they just make a rule that says, "Our highway speed limits are 55mph... unless you're Christian, than you can do what ever the hell you want."

Bauer said allowing Christians to have a specialty license plate is freedom of speech. He said those who oppose are prejudiced against Christians.

I love when Christians throw the prejudice card. So now you're prejudice against Christians if you oppose them getting special treatment exclusive only to them.

Bauer also said he is not afraid of a personal political backlash against him.

"If I were never to get elected or serve in another capacity because I pronounce my faith as a Christian, I don't have a problem with that," Bauer said.

I call BS here.

No, it makes stupid people stand out more. Bad drivers are determined by sex and race.

Here in Memphis, a solid majority of the ****ty drivers have a jesus fish on their car. It doesn't matter if it's a chick or a dude, or the amount of melanin in their skin. jesus fish = ****ty driver

In my experience that's true, but because people with them are old.

I don't see any problem with people choosing to profess their religious faith on their license plate, since people already declare all kinds of other things, including political views, on their license plates, but the thing is, I highly doubt any other religious group would get their own license plate.

I don't think we're going to see Muslim license plates, or Wiccan license plates, or Buddhist license plates.

And yea, gotta love Christians playing the "oppressed" card when they are the reigning majority in America and always have been, and historically are the ones trying to restrict the rights of others and maintain their own dominance.

Christians are not the only ones who "believe", despite the monopoly many of them seem to think they have on religion, faith, values, and morality.

It's a common misconception I hear all the time - that communism is somehow interrelated in some way to athiesm - they never explain how, though.

The Soviet government was unofficially atheist . And I thought you were being serious, that's why I asked.
