Scott Porter Joins Speed Racer

Scott Porter ("Friday Night Lights") has landed a role in Warner Bros.' Speed Racer, which starts filming this month in Berlin, reports Variety.

Porter will play Rex

the older brother to Speed Racer who fakes his death and returns as Racer X.

Emile Hirsch plays the title role; the cast includes Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon. Andy and Larry Wachowski wrote and will direct the big screen adaptation.

He's hot so he has 50% approval from me at the moment.

I've been searching about this movie online and a lot of sites and news articles are using the IMDB description to discuss the movie, and it hit me because I actually wrote that description on IMDB a few months back. I should get a stipend for that, man.

Well this at least ends any debate over whether the car is a render or real,it looks amazing when you get a full look at all the details,cast seem up for it as well

The car they made is just too awesome for words. I grew up on Speed Racer, yes I am showing my age by saying that but really I never missed it when it was on this local UHF channel here in Pittsburgh.

I think it makes perfect sense to have two actors playing Rex Racer. When Rex an away he was about Speed's age. So it makes more sense to use a younger actor for the flash back then to try and make Mathew Fox look like a teenager.

I just can't wait for this movie. It better not come out the same day as TDK though or I'll be peeved.

If Speed won't drive for Royalton, Royalton will see to it that the Mach 5 never crosses another finish line.
