Spider-man 3 - Exclusive PS3 Features

Get the PS3 version of "Spider-Man 3" It'll be good! I promise!

You get to play exclusively as The New Goblin!!!

Look, he's not that bad!!

He can look bad all he wants - hes on a mother****in glider...in a free roaming city, thats quality gameplay - especially if the controls are good.

Yes, because Zenien is oh-so funny and extremely intimidating.

(Waits for Zenien to use a useless graph)

See, but adding New Goblin with his nice glider really adds nothing of meat or substance to the gameplay unless his section of gameplay turns out to be anything that advances the story or doesn't run straight into a dead end with no point or meaning.

With most split story-lines, I'm expecting it to be quite close to fulfilling the role of "forgettable side trip".

Zenien, if you don't care to bother "discussing" this issue with us, then why keep posting

You fail to amuse me, as always. You're nothing but a child sitting on top of the mountain of your own imagination. You really are the definition of the pathetic attention ****e.

If the New Goblin is fun to play with - then it gives you more to do and thus gives the game more replay value.

And the whole point of a game is to play it - thus replay value is crucial.

And in the end...Good Guys Win, Bad Guys Lose and in the end ENGLAND PREVAILS!

Jeez, Deleted User, you are wrong. And so am I. :csad:

Due to the increased number of declining story possibilities for the 360 version, that makes the PS3 version of Spider-Man 3 superior in all ways, shapes, and forms. :csad:

See, but extras don't have anything to do with replay value. It all depends on if those extras actually mean anything in the end that matters. Sort of like the extra characters in the JE special edition. Sweet! I can play with another character! But.. it adds nothing to the gameplay, really.

Alright so how does the Goblin with his own missions and a cool control scheme add nothing to the gameplay or replay?

Said the Joker to the Thief

Seriously give people a chance to reply to something you've said before making another post with a totally different slant, or just stop for 20 seconds and think about what you want to include in that one post.

It adds an entire new dimension TO the game play - its a completely toy to play with in a huge city. Half the fun of Spiderman 2 is flying around the city as a ****in Spiderman, now you get to fly around as another comic book character. That adds to gameplay.

At the very least it is a large minigame - which is never a bad thing. Burnout is made great, in a large part, due to its Crash mode. An example of minigames greatly helping a game.

Us Xbots aren't all for waiting for a reply before posting. :whatever:

But I wanted to say that. :( The Wii's also getting some exclusive features so I'm going to bet that the 360/Elite will too.

Why would Sony give Microsoft exclusive features when there is very little difference in gameplay between 360 and PS3.

Seriously, it's not like people will buy a PS3 for one new character. That is ******ed.

Hmm, buy the game on 360 for $60... or spend $660 for a new system and the game, for the New Goblin? Decisions, decisions...

Okay, but what does it add to gameplay that you can't do with Spiderman? If it's all cosmetic, what the hell is all the fuss about, really? "Well, instead of swinging from web to web.. you get to fly around on a glider.. isn't this cool guys?! PS3 FOR TEH WINZ!!!11!!"

Its an entirely different form of game play! If you can't see it, then you are more biased than I am painting you out to be.

Now if VENOM was the bonus character, then damnit, that sucks.

But Venom would be very little of a game play change. Its still webslinging. Now Sandman would be pretty awesome - but almost completely impossibly to do right.

It's f***ing Venom, Norman.

Venom.

Calling something as superficial/cosmetic as flying a glider around town instead of swinging around town an entirely different form of gameplay is pure hyperbole. They're two somewhat different means to the same end. They progress nothing further nor give you no options you didn't have before, it's completely cosmetic. The rest is based on how "monumental" his 10 missions are.

I'm sorry I can't see what the big ****ing deal about flying around town as opposed to swinging around town on webs.

He has 10 missions, plus races. Its a new character to play as. Thats fairly big.

If Venom was the bonus character - your argument would be valid.

One of the things people loved about Spider-Man 2 was just swinging around the city and stoping crimes. These are games, the act of the gameplay doesn't have to be tied to the core nerrative of a story to be enjoyable.

That adds nothing to the actual game, though. That's for the collectors' edition and is more for people who enjoy extras aside from the actual game. It adds and subtracts nothing from either version of the game.

You bet DVD extras can add to a game, developer commentary can be great, of sure take away features please.

God of War I/II with it's extra content and DVD extras > God of War without them.

If only the price of the respective consoles had anything to do with which version had the better features. Grasp at those straws some more.
