Ok, everyone knows Spider-man 4 is going to be released eventually, do you think Spider-Man 4 will beat TDK's records when it is released. I think it won't. I think TDK is gonna be the "Titanic" of super-hero movies for awhile.

might beat its opening weekend, doubt it tops iots midnight or opening day, **** NO it comes within 200 million to its total.

i agree with excel, that it will probably beat it's opening weekend, at thats about it, but spidey 4 has lots of potential and it can only get better than spider-man 3.

Considering Spidey 3's mixed response, don't expect Spidey 4 doing too well.

My franchise is better than yours!

My franchise is better than yours!

Come on guys. This is trolling. I got a demerit for this and you guys always get a pass.

Shennanigans!

I'm a Spidey fan all the way but I don't see SM4 beating TDK.
Its going to make HUGE money (even though SM3 left a bad taste in people's mouths) but I don't know about 500 million. 400+ is a possibility and 300 million+ is pretty much garunteed.

Honestly though i agree with Franklin Richards. Ever since TDK has become the number one superhero movie of all time I feel that batfans have been rubbing it in everyones faces and some of them are very protective, its like TDK is a child. Seriously if you say anything other than "OMG!!TDK WILL beat Titanic!!!" someone will attack you like wild pitbulls :csad:....I don't get it, Im just enjoying TDK's success because it is well deserved...its a great movie but I don't get the hostility. Shouldn't comic book fans just be happy that a great comic book movie pulled in half a billion domestic?...cause I sure am.

It's not trolling, its an honest question, if i wanted to troll using this poll i would of done it in the Spider-man or TDK board

I think that Spidey 4 definately has a chance of beating TDK's opening weekend unless of course the studio decides to open the movie a couple of days earlier instead of friday.

But TDK's 500 million is a very diffuclt number to surpass.
No doubt that Heath's death added some publicity . I dunno if his death was definitive draw but it cetainly was a major force . However TDK really is the first true adult superhero movie. I'm not dissing Spider-man , but Spider-man still deals with a fanstastical world. Guy turning into sand , guy gets mechanical arms attached to it. While the movies do get their fair share of attention , there are many people who still think of them as kiddie movies. Not adult movies. That's the main difference with TDK which really pushed it's rating and dangerously ventured into R rated territory.

If Spidey can become a adult movie and still stay true to it's origins , then i think it could have a shot of surpassed TDK domestically.
However chances are slim. The 400 million mark isn't something that can be surpassed easily. SPider-man so far has 3 movies and only one of them has hit 400 million.

Opening weekend is a possibility, but that WW total of TDK is phenomenal (and still rolling, as i write this! :wow: )...

I think only Avengers or JLA might be able to make that kind of bank...

I hate this Spider-Man Vs. The Dark Knight debate.

It's utterly pointless. They're both VERY separate movies to do with two very different characters...at this point, when we've only heard about very vague 'possibilities' to do with the Spider movie....it's pointless to speculate.

And TDK is a bloody levithian when it comes to takings.

I'll come back to this thread when there's a trailer. Thanks.

Ok um what don't you understand of "Do you think Spiderman 4 could break TDK's box office or is TDK is Titanic of Comic book movies", not Do you think Spider-man 4 will be better

Well the title sends testament to that sentiment. And you're basically saying this.

GRRRR!

Yes Spider-Man 4 will trounce TDK in every way possible, why? Because thats how awesome spider-man is!

Honestly I dont know, nor do i think it matters. I'm just hoping for a really good movie as most of us spidey fans are!

Personally, I think S-M4 will do amazing at the box office and it will probably gross just as much money as TDK. So, basically, I'm voting for Spidey 4! :spidey::up:

I don't expect Spider-Man 4 to do better than Spider-Man 3 unless it has good word of mouth. The general audience did not come out of the third movie anxious to see a sequel. Besides the obvious stigma of doing more past a trilogy, it has to overcome one massive hurdle: "Spider-Man 3 looked great, and looked how that turned out." Maybe a possible fifth will fare better than the third, but I'm not expecting too much out of this next installment. If it's so freakishly good that it manages to break more records, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I think it's all going to be rendered moot, though, when curiosity catches up with people and Nolan's third Batman movie hits theaters (assuming that he does one, of course).

Hooray for analyzing the BO of a movie 3 years down the line

Part of me says, any '4' of a series is destined to be one of, if not the, last of the series. Audiences get sick of things by then.

Part of me says, yeah, but if it's one big story, and audiences want to know what happens next, then they'll happily come back, i.e. the fourth (and following) Harry Potter movies.

Well, its a little too early to be discussing this. We don't know even what the villain(s) or story is gonna be about...Should SM4 try a darker tone again or go for the flamboyant approach like SM1/2 did?
I agree with the mixed reactions to SM3 it might be hard for it to surpass TDK or even BB...I just hope for nomore 'dance fever' routines in the movie :whatever:

The only up-coming movies I see stealing TDK's thunder are BM3 or The Avengers.

something like the dark knight only comes once in a great while . i dont think spiderman four will beat those numbers.
