Comics Spider-Man December Books:

Based on reading the solicit for ASM #581 with regards to Harry's "logical, non-magical, and totally plausible way he came back from the dead," it really does strengthen the notion that Marvel is going with the "retconing the retcon" approach, in that, while One More Day caused the changes to happen, Marvel is going to act like it never actually happened but all the changes that resulted in Brand New Day are still in place and have been around all along.

That leaves the only explanation as for why Harry was able to come back has to do with the Goblin Formula. Perhaps his "death" was really his body undergoing the shock of his body trying to adjust to the formula and he went into a coma. It, of course, resulted in him having amnesia in which he forgot everything since the time he was first committed to a psychiatric hospital--way back during the Bart Hamilton days.

This would mean he not only forgot about ever being the Green Goblin but he also forgot about Liz and his own son. It would explain his divorce from Liz because, no longer having memories of their marriage, made him appear as though he were a different person and no longer felt the same way about her as he once did. Either way, it's no wonder Molten Man would want revenge, considering how he'd see Harry as "abandoning" Liz and Normie.

now all that would be cool, if they go in that direction...

1.) Roger Stern writing a Spidey issue is interesting
2.) An answer to Harry's "death"= Good!
3.) Venom: Dark Origin is concluding
4.) Yay for Spider-Girl kissing somebody cooler than Flash's *****ebag son :hyper:

Well, ASM looks like it's the usual, "Explain it all away" BS.

Amazing Spider-Man Family, Amazing Spider-Girl, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, and Venom: Dark Origins all look great, though!

These ideas are very good.

I'll be getting Amazing spiderman family just for the reprint of Spectacular #200!

lol... maybe he came back with Jason Todd when Superboy-Prime punched that reality wall. (Daaaaamn yooooouuu, Superboy Prime!!!)

I'm glad they're making an effort to fix things midstream and have it make (some) sense. Mephisto setting off a domino reaction of real world events, as opposed to just snapping his fingers and saying "it's magic lolz!" is a lot better. It'll bring a lot of people back into the fold. Which is good, because continuity aside, there's been some great BND stories.

But now that Little Normie is coming back, that great photoshop of Peter telling Liz that Normie never existed can't be used now. (Does anyone still have that?)

From the #579 solicit "and his old pall JJJ”

Someone needs to fire the proof-reader.

Penciled by GUS VASQUEZ & PATRICK SPAZIANTE
Cover by RON GARNEY & MARKO DJURDJEVIC
On a terrible day not long ago, a single bullet tore into Peter Parker's beloved Aunt May, triggering a cascade of helplessness, revenge and desperation that finally cost Peter the life he had always known and almost cost Spider-Man everything he had ever stood for. But what if the bullet had found a different target? If Spider-Man was willing to break all his rules for the woman who raised him, how far would he go for the woman he loves? "What If Mary Jane Had Been Shot Instead Of Aunt May?" Featuring Part 4 of a special five part back-up story, 'What if the Runaways Became the Young Avengers?' In this issue... Enter Kang!
32 PGS./Rated T+ ...$2.99

I'm really excited for this!

I really dont care for these inconsequential "What-If" stories, to me they're just a bunch of unnecessary teases of "what could have been".

The What If will probably end with everyone dying, so that Marvel can wave it in our face and say "See see, isn't it better that Aunt May got shot and Peter and MJ made a deal with Mephisto?! Now shut up and buy BND!"

We probably will have Spidey kills Kingpin for real this time, or maybe beats up Iron Man badly. It will be nice to see those :D

Two things I noticed...

1... They try to hide Harry's year of birth on his gravestone on the ASM#581 cover, but the last year is clearly a '7'. Which would make Harry either 21 or 31. Considering he's had a kid and has been married 3(?) times, I would go with the latter. :word:

2... Where's the solicit for the next Spider-Man/X-Men mini? I'm still psyched about the Ben Reilly issue, so I hope it didn't get cancelled or anything.

If Harry was 31 or 21 when he died like jjj's ulcer proposes. Peter's around 25-26, How old Gwen should be if she was alive. Cause Harry and Gwen know each other from way back... (Well long before they knew Peter.)
The What If? BIB premise is what COULD have made OMD slightly easier to swallow, but I'm betting that they'll make everything crappier just to say that THEY WERE RIGHT in doing it the original way... I'm hoping for a What if? OMD in which Peter Tells Mephisto to stick the deal up his... you get the point.

They're going to bury the Satanic deal under a ton o' crap to see if we forget...

Harry and Peter used to both act a lot more mature than how they're depicted in the books nowadays. Compare the psychologically deep Spec Spider-Man run from the early 90's with the current BND status. Back when Harry was running Oscorp and had a 5 year-old kid and wife and was retreating into his Goblin persona, he seemed to be about 30ish and the responsible but scared way Peter was reacting made him seem older and more weary too. He had serious arguments with his wife MJ over her smoking and Harry's condition, was concerned over his apartment and having Harry live upstairs and his constant threats. He seemed around 28-30.

Now they both act like they're 25. Who even knows anymore.

Let's cut the difference and say they're 27.

It's grouped with the X-Men solicits.
