Batman TAS was the best superhero cartoon and he would kick all sorts of ass on a spidey toon. At least we'd actually see spidey throw a punch once in a while.

but this DTV series has the potential of being great, because its not limited in any way.

It would be cool to have cuss words in it, blood, actual fights,

it has a chance because its not limited by television

so curse and swear words make a good show for you? not character and plot development?

The reason why they dont do what you would want them to do is because, the spideys, hulks and x-men are the most iconic front runners and the most recognisable that bring in viewers and ultimately the cheddar.

they only reason they bring the cheddar is because someone took a chance with them back in the day.

why can't someone take a chance with the other teams and heroes so they have more heroes in this 'iconic' frontline.

Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and Wolverine are all currently on the way.

the fantastic four, iron man and wolverine have all been seen numerous times in different animated formats.

they are all tarnished with the same brush, especially with older viewers which will have their favourite renditions of them cemented in their minds and the cartoons will forever be a cheap imitation of what has come.

perhaps i've judged them harshly but some of those old, ff, spidey, hulk, x-men, evolution,ff and iron man cartoons were damn good.

For someone who is seeing so much spidey, you're not helping it by coming to a spidey "world" board.

how else would you expect me to express my views on a topic i saw via using the 'new post' button.

i don't see how commenting on a board has anything to do with trying to push other heroes in other mediums

i mean how it is going to be when there are 17 different spidey animated shows that have been released?

ask the average outsider to name 10 different single heroes/affilations in marvel and wont have a clue?

i'm just making a point that there is a concentrated saturation of certain products and it's totally unecessary.

Honestly, I think the 90's X-Men is best overall.

Just because it was gorier & had profanity doesn't make it better. I liked the first season but after that it sucked.

I've got the first two series, and altho it was gory, the stlye of animation was what made it awesome! Not to mention the volume of depth in the Spawn character! It was like hours of amazing artwork, with a brilliant story, that's why I love I1.

I could never really get into Spawn. I mean, he lives in a frickin' alley, has awesome powers but can't use them, he's burnt up worse than Freddy Krueger, has agents of heaven AND hell trying to kill him, everybody he ever thought was his friend has betrayed him-his life just plain sucks! Not to mention 2 things I could never get my head around:
1-Malebolgia empowered him to be his servant. Spawn defies Malebolgia & uses said powers against him. Why can't Malebolgia just take them back?
2-Al was gone for 5 years. Cyan speaks in perfect sentences, which would make her at least 4. When the hell did Terry make his move? At the funeral?

All hell spawn's have a choice, that's one of the key elements of Spawn. It makes a balance, Malebolgia has to gamble on each hell spawn, to see if they'l lead his armies into sucess.

heres an idea, get the cast of the movies to voice the cartoon. Theyre doing it with the Hellboy cartoon, so why not?? Especially seeing as how its straight to dvd, its not like the cast wuld have to go in for any kind of pre-scheduled recordings (weekly, or monthly like the simpsons cast), they could jsut go in for a few days, record the whole series, get a paycheck and be done with it. Tobey Maguire already does the voice acting in all the spider-man games too.
