The high tech suit feels very Ultimate Spiderman cartoon, which is never a good thing. I'm surprised there is no Spidey Motorcycle. I'm sure the Toy companies will love it though.
Tony will make one for him. Dont get depressed. But first he will need to pass a test if he is worthy. Spider-Man: Driver License.

Hugh Laurie would be marvellous, I've wanted him since way back.

I feel like if they ever utilize Jonah, it'll be someone who hasn't shown up on any fan cast lists.

I HOPE we'll get the Daily Bugle by movie 3 or 4 (if not some hints of in the MCU).

These guys I'd love to see as J. Jonah Jameson and I wasn't on the John C. McGinley bandwagon before but after "Belko Experiment"... consider him on my list.

Those are some good choices. Is everyone going to praise Marvel again when none of these choices get the role and they instead cast an african american woman? Because it's more modern and relevant like an Indian Flash who is an academic rival for example.

Asking for a friend...

I wouldnt be suprised if we got female JJ. Black for take it safe. And gay, why not. In relationship with Robbie Robertson who will be casted as asian women.

I bet the Bugle will be like TMZ for superheroes. They did say something about modernizing the Bugle.

I don't know how the Bugle will need a photographer these days. Everyone can capture footage of Spider-Man on their cell phones now.

If it came down to it, to be PC or "different", I'd rather we get a black J.J. than a woman J.J. or whatever.

I like Terry Crews over Ice Cube. Although, Crews to me should be Ben Grimm if they decide to race-change.

Courtney B. Vance maybe?

Most likely he'd be a web designer, like in the Ultimate universe

How dare none of you suggest Tom Hanks. :argh:

So unlike some of the others here, I was optimistic about Tony's involvement in the film.

Then I scroll through over the skepticism thread and see this:

It's from a recent article that confirms minor information about the movie. And ouch. That hurts. Like, that really hurts.

I mean, it's not just the fact classic Peter inventions are now made by Tony. Different types of webbing emphasized Peter's creativity. I always felt he had that childlike sense of wonder to his creativity guys like Tony and Pym didn't. Now that creativity is the byproduct of Tony's. Same with the spider-signal.

Really not fond of this. It seems with every new thing we learn about Tony's involvement, my optimism goes down. Which is ironic since I wouldn't consider myself a Tony naysayer. I think he can fit a natural role in the film given the right story, and I wasn't as bothered by the new trailer as the people here, but this...this is a sledgehammer to my heart. Ouch is the best way to describe it. :csad:

I agree 100 percent. However this is not a legitimate concern according to some posters in this forum. What does it matter that Spider-Man's entire superhero persona and tech is no longer his and instead is a byproduct of Stark. That's just a silly complaint. Besides he's "just a kid learning to be a hero" but we also already got the fully functioning independent hero who has been operating without Stark before Civil War. Never mind that he was only in the equivalent of the "wrestling suit" from Raimi's first Spider-Man film and was likely only operating solo for a short period of time. That doesn't fit the narrative so he's been a full fledged Spider-Man already despite not obtaining his actual Spider-Man costume until he is recruited by Stark in Civil War and subsequently has his suit designed for him including classic elements such as the Spider-signal, Spider-tracer (which is now a robot drone because...cool?) Underarm web wings and also different types of webbing. But it's ok because Tony Stark designed him a high tech Iron Spider suit once in the comics years and years after Spider-Man had been an established hero with his own costume and tech, so that's justification for him designing his first real Spider-Man costume and all his technology (except for webshooters) when he is a 15 year old kid just starting out, because it is "accurate".

Sam Elliott, but perfect casting would be JK Simmons? Anyone heard of him?

He's moved on. He's Commissioner Gordon in the DCEU now. People need to let it go. It's time to move on and focus on the future.

Whoa, that's actually a great point. It does look a little Tony-ish; not like something Peter would have made in particular.

Ouch again. :csad:

and that's why I've been saying all of this time that there is a legit concern over Tony's involvement in the film.

I can see Peter using Stark's labs and resources and coming up with the tech and different webbing himself. Or working with Stark to come up with this stuff.

but if Tony is designing all of this himself and then just giving it to Peter, that robs something from Peter. And that's not good.

hopefully by the end of the film, Peter realizes he can't depend on Stark for the suit, tech, and gadgets. and he decides to do it on his own.

I actually really dig the idea of a black JJJ.

Just no. Spiderman has enough diversity.

idk does Jonah being black change anything about the character? nope.

He's my vote.

I think it's the way he can shout and yell, loose his sh** and still sound nice and amiable but in a cantankerous way.

None of your concerns are legitimate because we haven't seen the movie and it's a fresh take we've already seen 5 solo movies and MCU always delivers :o

Forreal tho, I share some sentiments with both sides of this argument, but I get pretty irritated at how some users from either side are so dismissive of opposing viewpoints (if you like what we got you're just an MCU fanboy, and if you don't you're a spoiled entitled fan)

Like can't we debate and discuss opposing views without being so condescending and dismissive?

Y'know, I think he could actually make a pretty good Curt Connors....except I don't think they'll be using him anytime soon

I think we got pretty clear confirmation we wont see any Green Goblins, likely not even Hobgoblin, Lizard, Doc Ock, Sandman, Electro, Rhino on big screen for MCU. And with Sony doing Black Cat and Silver Sable, and standalone Venom, not even him, meaning no Carnage either. They can't use Kingpin cause they wont merge movie and tv verse.

We will already spend Vulture in this movie. Shocker could be back for sequel. Likely not necessary. So we will end up with either Scorpion, Mysterio, Kraven, Morbius, Jackal, Spencer Smythe - Spider Slayers or Hydro Man. Not many can carry a movie as lead villain from those.

I aint counting Chameleon or Big Wheel or even Hammerhead.

i find this ridiculously inaccurate.. classic villains will return. I still wouldn't be shocked if the sin six shows up eventually in the MCU spidey films
