I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet but something I felt that was worth noting...
In 616 Peter is an outsider because he's in a regular school where being into sports or whatever is considered the norm. Being social etc. And Peter is more a bookworm who's primary interest is science and would rather spend his time going to see lab demonstrations. He's the outcast because he's not doing what is expected.
As a nice contrast, look at Miles. He's also smart but is in a school full of other smart kids. However he's also an outcast. In his example, Miles is expected to do something with his smarts, be into science and go to lab demonstrations, etc. It's what is expected of him. Instead though he wants to be an artist. He'd rather spend his time painting. It's not what is expected and that makes him the outsider.
Anyway, I just thought it was cool how they approached this.
