Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane: Terry Moore/Adrian Alphona

The problem is, I buy SO many books as it is, and now I'm really getting hooked on a lot of great trades, too, so it's hard to justify another monthly, especially another Spider-Man related one.

I'll decide when the time comes. I'm eagerly awaiting the solicit for the second hardcover in the meantime.

Also, I'm cautiously optimistic about Ramos. He's definitely a step down from what we're used to, but he has moments of brilliance. I really loved some of his sequences in Wolverine: Civil War.

Ramos has lost it for me. I liked his Crimson, and I liked his Out There, but I just can't stand to look at his X-Men stuff. It's so ****ing bad.

Yeah, Alphona's damn near A-list (as far as the general fanboy public is concerned) and Moore is very well respected.

The Mary Jane books have been one of the only solid books that features Spidey ... much better than most of the Spidey crap Marvel has been putting out the past couple years. I was so sad to see McKeever was leaving; but, you couldn't ask for a better writer than Terry Moore. Just looking at what he did with Strangers In Paradise only shows the extent of what he can do with such a dramatic work. (Maybe we'll see this book get more sexy! Imagine MJ having a lesbian crush, ala Francine and Katchoo)

Holy ****. One of my favorite books just got even better. Alphona's moving on to pencil Moore's Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane relaunch. I would never have predicted this.

I'll miss Hahn, though.

Ugh, I might actually have to try this book now. Before I could justify staying away in spite of all the praise I've seen heaped on it because I hated the quasi-manga art style and I'm not really interested in teen soap opera books, but I'd sell my left nut for some more Alphona art right about now. Quite the dilemma...

I was on the fence, but hearing this, i've decided to pick up this title

As much as I like Takeshi Miyazawa's art, I liked Hahn's better for this series. I don't know what it was, but Miyazawa's art looked a lot better on Runaways. I don't remember, but he may have had an inker for that book...

Nor am I. Have you seen Hahn's work, though? It was manga-ish, but not really. I liked it a lot.
