Marvel Television Spider-Man Noir (Amazon Prime) TV Series

From the official synopsis it seems he hasn't been Spider-Man for a while by the time the series starts, so I wonder how much we'll actually see him in the suit.
The story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.
I said it before on the Spidey board as well, but I hope that besides Noir versions of famous villains we've already seen we'll see some smaller villains we didn't get yet who fit into the Noir universe like Hammerhead or Swarm.

Regardless of quality, I think it at the very least it might be worth watching for Cage.

Bit weird on the show simply being called Noir but rights issues, I guess.

I don't know. I feel like Marvel Noir as a concept is interesting but temporary. A Spider-Man series should get a decent budget for it not to look cheap. So budgeting/production could be a major issue.

Then once people have seen the first season, I doubt there would be much interest for the 2nd/3rd season unless they feature the other Noir version of other Marvel A-listers, as the gimmick/draw which obviously won't happen.

Is it me or this thing is coming super fast?
Not just you.

I still remember how long it took for Sony to even start production for Silk, which didn't even happen before its cancelation.

I guess with no SSU film in 2025 and possibly 2026, the people behind those films, have all the time for this. I'm just glad that this would be for streaming and not another Marvel Sony film to be released in theaters.

Production wise, I am curiois how its gonna look compare to a live action Spider-Man movie. I think the costume is easy to pull off and the Noir visual style under a "streaming budget", but the web swinging, the action? It is gonna be 8 hours of content with every episode containing a set piece and a well-choreographed action scene?

I feel like if they managed to give this a cinematic look and an engaging story from ep1 to 8, then this could be something especially it is still Spider-Man. But its Sony. Even Marvel Studios is a hit and miss with their shows.

Sony Television is a separate division from Sony Pictures. Their track record for shows in recent years is pretty good for the most part.

Take this with a grain of salt, as he’s hit and miss.

Why did they call it Spider-Noir? You have a project which is an offshoot of the biggest comic book character in the world, and they obfuscate the concept for what?

So is Nicolas Cage not playing Peter Parker? I'm kinda okay with that in all honesty.

Who is he playing then? Have they mentioned?
