Spider-man REBOOT! How would you do it!

I'd take the 3 billion dollars the series had made, wipe my ass with it, and then flush it.

Seriously? Reboot?

Man, those f'n Spiderman movies were awful. I felt like I was watching one of those made for TV movies we used to get as kids.

F'n Thor, Hulk and Iron Man are going to be 10 times better and more serious than these Spiderman films we got over the last few years.

Thor maybe but Hulk & Iron Man? Psssh I don't think so. Iron Man will be full of jokes, Hulk well....it's Hulk.

Villians:
1:
Green Goblin
Electro
2:
Doctor Octopus
Mysterio
3:
Sandman
New Goblin
Symbiote
4:
Lizard
Kraven
Venom
5:
Scorpion
Rhino
Vulture
6:
Carnage
Shocker

I would like to add that the current Spider-Man films suck, especially no 3.

Tmr I will add my version of how I would reboot the series, and how it would be different to the current craptastic film series.

Bravo, brother and QFT:up::up:

Yeah that casting was kinda lame. Donald Sutherland as JJJ?? WTF! That guy is way to dull to play JJJ.

What's wrong with my cast? Donald Sutherland would be a great JJJ just cause he's dull makes him a bad choice:whatever: it's called ACTING

Yeah and he's F***in Donald Sutherland in all his movies. Dude if you really want me to get into detail with you're cast I can. First You picked the two kids from Sky High. The Michael Kid has no charisma and is just a regular young actor to me. He doesnt have that magnetism that Shia or Jake Gyllenhal would bring to the role. Danielle Panabaker is not naturally sexy, she's cute and all but doesnt that sexy presence. She's more Betty Brant than anything. Donald Sutherland as JJJ is freaking ******ed dude, he so damn dull for JJJ. You just need a natural smart allick as$hole for the role. Donald Sutherland always comes off as creepy and wierd to me. I wouldnt even cast him as Uncle Ben.

It's called acting, donald sutherland is good at that, and just cause he plays dull characters makes him bad for the role? Viggo Mortensen never played a villian and look how awesome and realistic he was in Eastern romises. That's the same problem with your cast, Gary Oldman? like he can act like a phsycho father, but that's why we all it ACTING, acting is pretending to be someone you're not, get it? Jake Gyllenhaal said he would never play a superhero, and Shia's way too famous. Michael Angarano did a good job in Sky High and has good charisma.

Danielle Panabaker seems sexy:

Actually my first choice for JJJ was Sam Elliot but he's already been in 2 marvel movies:

You really only need to reboot Venom, and then do a venom, venom/carnage movie, and then maybe a couple movies involving the spiderman clones. Voila.

Director - John Favreu or the wachowski bros

Cast:
Spider-man/Peter Parker - Shia LeBeouf

Mary Jane - Vanessa hudgens

Gwen Stacy - Hayden Panettiere

Uncle Ben - William Devane

Aunt May - Meredith Baxter or Debra Jo Rupp

Green Goblin/Norman Osborn - Michael Massee

Harry Osborn - Emile Hirsch

Doctor Octopuss -Sam Neil

:o :o

Yeah, Elijah would of made a great Spidey. He would of brought that natural sincerity to the role.

Elijah's too short and would have done the exact same horrible performance that TMags has done thus far.

jake gyllenhaal would of been my pick , its too bad he wouldnt do it. elijah w is definately too short for that

hmm if I had to recast:

Peter Parker- Jake Gylenhaal
Mary Jane- AJ Cook

the rest of the cast would be the same; seriously...I don't think you're going to find a better JJJ. The supporting cast in Spider-Man 1-3 was ace.

there are some great casts in this thread, but there is no need for a reboot of this series

This thread isn't questionning if we should reboot or not. We're discusssing what changes would be made should a reboot occur.

I would base it on Ultimate Spider-Man and allow the film rating to go as far as is logical for the plot to allow it with extended action sequences and/or mature themes (dialogue, references, et cetera). I wouldn't really care who was cast, so long as they capture the look and feel of their USM counterparts.

The first would focus on the "Power and Responsibility" arc with "Learning Curve" elements in Mary Jane finding out about his identity. The second could focus on the "Venom" arc, with elements of "Double Trouble" and "Public Scrutiny" in the form of Gwen's introduction, her father's death, and the breakup between Mary Jane and Peter to add emotional grativy. It'd add a nice TESB feel if it went off of a good first film. The third...well, you could play with the audience's emotions and do a "Carnage" adaptation or discontinue the symbiote involvement altogether and give a try at a better "Clone Saga" to get Peter and MJ back together.

To stress: this is just what I think might be a good idea with the franchise. I'm open to anything, though what I'm not open to is all of the Goblin repetition. The Goblin involvement should end with the first film in a reboot. I loved the first Spider-Man film, but I don't like the idea of stretching things further than that in a possible reboot. Spidey's saga is way too immense to be constantly structured by Goblin appearances.

Do an origin that's interesting enough to put the audience through again, and then run with different concepts. Make it dark, make it gritty, but make it appealing along the way. And would it hurt the character to have a guest appearance from someone like the Hulk? I don't think so. All in all, I'd just be open to good ideas.

I would base it on Ultimate Spider-Man

Completely agree. I have no desire to see a reboot that does the same thing as SM1 but with web-shooters, which seems to be what most people have been suggesting.

Spider-Man 1 - Dr Octopus, Peter dates and falls in love with Gwen.
Spider-Man 2 - Green Goblin, Norman kills Gwen and ends up killing himself
Spider-Man 3 - The Lizard and Kraven, MJ is introduced.

Keep symbiotes out of the movies altogether.
