Far From Home Spider-Man Sequel General Discussion and Speculation

I'd rather not see them repeat that mysterious man in the hat adviser role in those TASM movies.

For Ock that is one of his most popular storylines, though. Just because TASM did it poorly with a no name character means nothing :o

That guy was working for Norman anyway.

Though i like the suggestions provided by everyone however my only concern with the S6 suggestions is there is no female villain....don't know if it is something they need to consider...my suggestion would be Doc Ock, Mysterio, Scorpion, Vulture, Kraven and Shocker...if they need a female villain then remove Kraven for Black Cat

To be honest I can't see Michael Keaton being lead by anyone...he seems more like a leader material...maybe they might make Vulture the leader?

yeah. I believe this too. But heck, having 3 out of the 6 members of the Sinister Six already shown in MCU Spidey's Universe is impressively quick. If they were to go down this route, of course.

My only concern is that because Scorpion and Shocker had very minor roles... I wonder if the Sinister Six would be at all threatening. They came across very Henchmen-y, to me.

I would like to see more layers or flesh them out better--like they did with the Vulture.

Yeah, I was just taking a dig at those movies. :oldrazz:

Most of the classic Sinister Six were very henchmeny villains. Sandman and Electro back when the Sinister Six were created were basically common criminals with powers. Same can be said about Vulture back then. Some of the S6 were bound to be less developed.

True. But I would want to avoid the movie being just a rematch with Spidey vs. Vulture (with just more hench-men)

I csn see them having fun with this. Peter being kind of a movie nerd.
Exactly...I can see Beck telling Spidey, that him & Vulture are gonna tag-team him; and, Peter is like, "you mean like that movie Broke Back Mountain....no thank you."

They said all along that Scorpion wasn't a guarantee to return
I'm initially suspecting that Gargan will have a small, brief, but significant role, as the front man formulating the team for the hidden, unspoken character only at this point known as the Master Planner. That line in the after credits scene, "I've got some friends..." speaks volumes, imo.

I'm really interested to see how dark they'll take some of his illusions.
I am very interested to see as well

I really don't see Toomes joining the Sinister 6. The ending of Homecoming definitely didn't make him seem like he wanted revenge. Now, what they COULD do is turn Liz into their version of Lady Beetle. She seems much more likely to try and take down Spider-man.

Could be a Co-leader.

I'm a purist in that regard. I would like to see Ock calling the shots. But I would like to see some kind of mutual respect between Octavius and Toomes. Something like this;

I think the threequel is a little too soon for an S6 film. I think, if they're setting up S6, that the threequel will finish off introducing the characters.

Is the 4th one The Tinkerer?

I did include him at first... but after taking a moment... I think it would be better to find another villain that could fill out the team better.

I heard rumors of gender non-specific casting for Kraven. I imagine that certain fans would not be happy with that though. I also think Ultimate Chameleon was female or something?

latest

Doc Ock (leader, introduced in the sequel as a post-credit scene zinger)
Vulture (second in-command, possibly blackmailed to join, could have Sandman's role)
Mysterio (middle-tier)
Shocker (henchman)
Scorpion (henchman)

That leaves a spot open.

If they have Doc Ock and Vulture as co-lead...it could work...another way of going around it would be that Doc Ock has something on Vulture which makes him one of the 'henchmen' rather than a leader. I think Mysterio, Doc Ock and Vulture are more than henchmen. Basically the movie actors are the threatening ones and the tv actors are the henchmen.

His family could be threatened, plus Toomes has leverage on Peter with knowing his identity.

I don't think Toomes should lead. But having Sandman's role works. Have him convinced to join but realizes they're going too far and later on Ock could threaten his family to keep him in line. Then he betrays them in the end.

With the way Peter talks about these "really old movies" it doesn't sound like he's the kind of guy who naturally became a fan by his own discovery. My headcanon is that Peter was introduced to these movies because younger May was a sci-fi geek and made Peter watch her favorites/the classics with her.

I can't see them not using Kraven, tbh.

I agree with this list. For that last spot, I am maybe thinking Tinkerer could be the 6th one. He can be the inventor for everyone else. If the member ends up being female, I could see Black Cat.

I think possibly part of the lore that both Sony & Marvel could be creating is that none of these characters are really followers, as in the comics of old...that they are their own persona. I can't really see a Gyllenhaal based Mysterio character being a follower either, just base on the actor himself, and his weird characterizations he brings to the characters he plays. So these characters being crass & their own persona may provide the scenario that Spidey exploit, in the event down the line, they are truly moving toward an eventual S6 team-up.

So if I had to guess for an MCU Sinister Six it would be

- Vulture (introduced in homecoming)
- Scorpion (introduced in homecoming)
- Shocker (introduced in homecoming)
- Chameleon (tech introduced in Winter Soldier and hinted at in homecoming with identity theft related ads)
- Mysterio (for the sequel)
- Kraven (one of Tom's favorites, was going to be included in the Webb S6, rumors about his own movie, one of the few major Spidey villains not used yet, one of the original S6)

And none of these have been in the Raimi and Webb films (not counting Bruce Campbell potentially being Quintin Beck)
Not sure I see Chameleon or Kraven being apart of this ensemble...but my gut tells me we may get something slightly different from the comics...where as, a female will be involved(Black Cat) and the team will be led by the Master Planner himself, DocOck...but is overseen by Norman....not GG, just Norman. Providing the finance & some tech & giving Doc the objective; but, let Doc do the planning to achieve the goal & heavy lifting.

Actually i changed my mind...i don't think they'll have Kraven...i think sandman or rhino would be more likely because they are henchmen...with Kraven they would need to go into him further...i don't think 3 movies is enough to go into Doc Ock and Kraven motivations...if S6 happens in the fourth movie then it is more likely to have Kraven as the main villian for the next movie and Doc Ock for the fourth.

I don't think Tinkerer necessarily has to have a spot to be a participant. For one, I think it's pretty important that Doc Ock create his own arms but Tinkerer could be general technical support for the team kinda like the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon

The trend with the MCU has been trilogies, so I don't see them waiting until a 4th film for the Sinister Six to be formed. I am thinking the team will be teased this movie, come together under Ock in film 3. We may get a 2nd villain introduced with Ock. Like a right hand man/woman. That would be our 6th member, unless they upgrade Tinkerer to member.

I would leave Osborne out as a true villain till after SM3 but would start seeding this universe with his presence.
