Far From Home Spider-Man Sequel General Discussion and Speculation

The only thing is that generally Marvel movies happen in real time, meaning that if a movie comes out two years after Avengers, it’s been two years since the attack in the MCU. Of course Homecoming ruined the timeline with the “8 years later” but if Parker is a junior in the sequel but just a sophomore in Homecoming then it will screw up the timeline even more as it’s s To take place right after Avengers 4.

I would argue that, more often than not, they do not appear in real time. All of Phase One is not in real time with the events of The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor happening within a short window. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 happens shortly after the first film (well before movies that came out after). Doctor Strange at least starts well before the events of the films immediately before, although it seems like it ends after. And it looks like the two movies of next year are taking place before Avengers: Infinity War.

Exactly. I would love a few more years in high school but it just wouldn’t make realistic sense based on the timing of these movies.

The MCU is definitely going in a different direction timeline-wise. In terms of their release of movies and such. Some ppl went through this before but Peter can still be a junior in the sequel.

Homecoming was around October of his sophomore year. (Homecoming dances are at the beginning of each school year.) Lets say it was October 2016.

If IW is two year later, 2018, it can be in the first half of 2018 where Peter is still a junior, before summer.

Especially if the villain is someone like chameleon, the trailer could focus on what Chameleon/Spider-Man is doing in New York while Peter is "dead". Would be interesting to include May's reaction to this.

There sure will be a trailer around November/December like for Homecoming and Sony has other policies when promoting movies - they post way more trailers and poster then Marvel Studios. Alsmost every scene of the movie was in the trailers for Homecoming.
The problem is Spiderman is dead right now (though nobody really believes that). They need to show him in the trailer and this will be after Avengers 4. So everyone will know, that Spiderman and the others will escape from the place, where they are now trapped.
Marvel is so careful spilling the beans about Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Star Lord, Groot, Mantis and Drax being alive that they're even not announcing the Phase 4 films at ComicCon.
But if Spidey is alive the other are be as well.
Not a smart move that Spiderman is the next movie after Avengers 4. And I bet the Russos aren't keen about that announcement (that Sony demanded) either

Regardless of Tony's fate, Peter will be greatly affected by the events of Avengers 3 and 4.

If Marvel has control of the trailers they will easily edit it so nothing gets spoiled. They won't reveal his emotional level in the trailer. Still expect the Ant-Man & Wasp approach with only 1 trailer before A4. They don't have to focus on Parker/Spider-Man in the 1st trailer. 2nd trailer is out the week after A4.
