So is Mysterio a sure thing or speculation?

Seems like a pretty sure thing. The only one not reporting it is Variety.

Plus I can't picture Gyllenhaal playing Kraven or another villain, really.

Another idea: Mysterio as a criticism of hero worship? Kind of like Syndrome from The Incredibles but contrasted with Peter who actually has his heart in the right place and isn’t in it solely for the fame and glory.

If true Mysterio would be awesome I’ve always wonder what they could do with him in a main movie. I’m sol glad this time they don’t rely on the obvious villains even though I wouldn’t mind if they tried a different Doctor Octopus.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see scorpion in some way to cause they kinda teased that at the end of Spider-Man homecoming.
