World Spider-man: Web of Shadows Game

Really bad. The only thing fun was the web-slinging. And even that was made to be pretty simple. I don't remember the specifics anymore, it has been a while since I played it.

Few things I remember are that you only had half or less the amount of moves you had in SM2. Random crimes and missions were even worse than before. Spider-Man got reduced to delivering cake to random civilians for no reason. I'm serious. You had to deliver cake.

I'm wondering, what did you guys dislike about the Spidey3 game? As I have said, I just thought the story could have been better.

Also, I'm really looking foward to hearing the wisecracks Spidey makes in the game.

sure...I'll list mine and why

1. The kingpin Fight.
Whether some people think its hard or not. it is long and tedious.
Seeing black suit Spidey get his butt handed to him by a normal human (even if muscle bound) is not cool.

2. The interactive cut scenes (or quick time events) sometimes were easy to fail because they came without warning.

3. The fighting was reduced to a borderline beat em up. im pretty sure no one saw anything that will make them go OMG now thats spiderman!

you can beat any foe (except venom) by using the reflex dodge and punching.

4. reflex dodge was MUCH better in SM2 than in this game. enemies with machine guns WILL hit you in sm3 because you run out of spidey reflex before they have to reload.

5. voice acting wasn't as good.

6. cutscenes were sloppily thrown together. (did anybody see how jj's neck deformed on screen??!) im not talking about the action clips however.

7. the final battle could have been better....i laughed when venom died.

8. boss battles consist of reflex dodge. punch. and when you get the black suit ground pound.

9. no level select.

10. sure the city is bigger....but its not as lively as in the past. citizens dont react to spidey AT ALL.

11. terrible story. i like how spidey is upset with sandman and eventually wants to kill him when hes never met him before...they didnt even explain why he went that far.

12. web slinging not as fun as sm2.

hmmmm i think thats about it spideyhero. :oldrazz:

lmao thats an injoke to the old 70s hostess "fruit pie" ads in the Spider-man comic books. (various other super heroes did it but he was the most famous.)

it was an ad that was drawn like a comic page within a comic where spidey is captured than "defeats his foes with delicious fruit pies." (hope that makes sense.)

I know older readers will get it...but I'm not even old enough to know the "good ol days" and be able to get that joke and im pushing 20, so you know the younger kids won't get it at all.... (funny how they can't rip the spidey out fit because of them though. lol)

Epic fail IMO. here's what it looked like though lol.

I got Spider-man 3 for the PS2 the same day I got my Wii. My mom said I could get it for the Wii instead, but I said no. I'm not sure if that was a good idea though.:csad:
Anyway, the PS2 version is basically the same, but without the motion sensors, right? If so, then yeah, Nathan pretty much sums it up. Those fruit pie missions get really annoying. The missions taking people to ambulances, are hard as heck. I barely ever make it in time; so when I hear them on the police scanner, I just ignore them.:woot:

Lol. Also, I do think the webslinging was quite different Spidey3 game. It sort of didn't feel as free and fluid as Spidey2s'.

Yep, you pretty much summed up the whole game. I agree about the web-slinging be fun, but really simple, and then it just got tiring.:csad:

Does anyone have a clip or anything that shows What If mode from SM?? It's been years since I've played it and I can't remember it for the life of me.

actually the wii version isn't that bad although i mostly played SM3 on PS2 (exact same game except no wii mote lol)

and i don't think they were cakes i think they were fruit pies, and the purpose of that was to pay homage to those goofy mini marvel comics advertising marvel superhero fruit pies from like the 70s and 80s. And the best thing about the SM3 on ps2 and wii was switching between red and black suit. so much freakin' fun.

if someone can help me figure out how
i promise to upload footage of "What If?" on SM and SM2 Enter Electro

I saw things that made me go "now that is Spider-Man" (but that's just me lol)
if u want the final battles to be more of a challnge try the ps2 version, Venom was almost impossible.

and yea it sucks that we had no level select but it's been like that sence SM2 the movie game.

Personally I liked the interactive cutscenes. It allowed there to be more spider-like moves. The only one I had a lot of trouble on, was Harry in the fight with giant Sandman.
I actually thought the 360's Venom fight was a lot harder, than the PS2 one.
Atleast in SM2 you could save at parts you liked, but for the 360 version, of SM3, had 2 playthroughs and that was it. Fortunately for the PS2 version, you could save at parts you liked.

I thought ultimate Spider-man's combat system had potential. (bouncing off of walls)

true there were some good combat moves...i don't mean to sound like a total downer....but nothing truly epic.

and i didn't meant gameplay was VERY repetitive. this game had such potential...its why i believe they should stop making movie games and focusing on comic games.

its really sad cause people dont understand the behind the scenes stuff.
movie makers trying to force things into the game that won't work well.
and not only do they have a short time to work with (usually about 9 months) but say they've been working on something for 6 months. they might have to scratch it because the director decides not to use it in the movie. :csad:

Web of shadow's will be good though. these guys have a strong passion about Spidey and they have had plenty of more time...

True...
but it just reminded me...
They haven't said which venom they will be using for this game yet...

Deep down I have a feeling it will be eddie.
Indeed, but I do really like that box art picture. I just said "fake" because of that Venom picture. However, as I said, I do think that's a great box art.

I'm loving how both of Spideys' fists have on side on them. The good side, and the bad side. :word::up:
the only thign that doesn't seem fake to me is spider-man himself. after all the model they are using for spidey is a comic version of the SM3 model.
then again that could have been photoshoped, like alot of game covers i see that are done by fans

and how come nothing is listed for PS2?

True, but it defenitely does seem real. Do they even release box arts this early? Well, either way, I find the cover to be very affective.

Ok so like when the heck is the voting for MJ gonna be up? lol
the minute keeps repeating itself
