Cory, they did that for Spider-Man 3. They had a LOT more information then.
By this time in Spidey's Web, we had:
- 2 live chats with the developers using a Java chat-based program
- Developer blogs about the PS3, PS2, and Wii versions of the game, also blogs about certain characters and how things worked. Not to mention developer opinions on things.
- The guest developer was there answering questions a lot more frequently than now. The moderators NEVER had to get questions answered for us because they stopped answering.
- A "hello to the members of this forum" video from Thomas Hayden Church. Yes, we got one from Tricia Helfer...weeks before the game's release. THC's vid was up months before the release. We also got one from Phil Lamaar on M:UA VIP and he hinted at him voicing Black Panther.
- Behind the scenes videos where they'd show an attack, then show how it was created, showed it in slow motion and all that good stuff.
- A contest to meet Stan Lee in California, have lunch with him, and have him sign a Wii that you also won.
- A contest to go to Treyarch and play the video game before anyone else did...you also could've brought a camera, I believe but the person who won didn't know that. He did, however play the 360 and Wii version of the game.
- A contest for either a Wii, PS3, 360, DS, or PSP just about every week.
- A "swag pack" for the members with the most points. Given to us to distribute and help promote SM3 the Game. Then there was a contest for those who got their stuff distributed and pictures taken of it and they won a console or handheld, I believe. I recieved this pack, it had a t-shirt, a hat, some stickers, a notebook, and I think a poster.
- A SM3 the Game poster signed by Tobey, Kirsten, and I think Thomas Hayden Church (I received this too but I haven't taken it out of the package.
). In M:UA VIP, they also sent out Stan Lee signed posters...I got one of those too...it's awesome.
- Plus a LOT more.
Everything I just listed ALSO happened for M:UA VIP and I believe for COD4. I think Activision's run out of money (seriously) with the way the economy is now. They must be definitely cutting back.
But they could give us more information...it doesn't take that much to give us more videos.
