This is what I got. I don't even have photoshop and I was able to make this. Imagine someone working for Shaba or Activision and what THEY could have done.

It's amazing how such a little change could have made the cover look so much better.

Shaba isn't even developing for PS2 or PSP. Amaze Entertainment is and they don't have a good track record.

It's almost set in stone than....the ps2 and psp versions are yet another cash in. That company is probably cheap for hire. compared to other ones. :csad:

Oh well...I'm glad I preordered this on ps3. :yay:

+100

PP, you also misread another part, he meant those with ONLY A PS2. A simple mistake, but we know you don't only own last-gen systems, we do. $500 is a waste if you have four times that in college loans. I know I'll be shortchanged, but if I'm wrong I'll be pleasantly suprised. I'd rather Shaba focus on the current-gen versions, and have them be the best they can be, and worry about the PS2 later. I can always go to a friend who owns it, so it's all good.

I know I seem pissed, but i felt partially called out with your "you can't call yourself a gamer if..." comment. I do it too, though, so that's karma for you.:csad:

It still goes back to the fact that one should not be surprised that they are getting a poor port of a game that has superior versions coming out to more mainstream consoles. Thats all. Most dev's are not going to spend the time nor money developing a title for the past generation of consoles when they have a game slated for the current systems that'll make them much more money. So when one yells why are we (insert past gen system here) users getting a crappy version, well, its not that hard to figure out.

I agree. They don't really have to even give last gen a game.

PS2 is pretty much dead, but since they'll make a PSP verison, it's easy to port it over.

I never said I was surprised. Mind telling me where I said that? Just because they are releasing a game on a last gen console does not mean they can't make a at least decent game, wheither or not the next gen versions are superior. Just because you have a PS3 or 360 does not mean us PS2 owners should be thrown aside.

When the next console comes in about 2 - 3 years, PS3 and 360 will be tossed aside as well.

When you buy a new PC, buy the time you've gotten it set up, it's already obsolete.

It's the circle of life for electronics. It happens, don't be angry. Go with the flow.

That's not the point though. Like I said, even though it is a last gen console, they should at least make a effort instead of putting out a piece of turd. More money for them if they put out something decent rather than crappy.

I would glady buy the PS3 version, but would you like to give me a PS3 first?

Besides I don't see the point in buying a console for $500 iff it's going to down to $100 or less in 4 or 5 years.

Sam's right a system's age has nothing to do with the quality of a game being produced. If the system is young and viable enough to have games made, then those games should be GOOD.

No one's making lame games for SNES and going "Eh..it's like 20 years old! Who caaares!"

PS2 may be last gen, but a lot of people still own and use it like it's current. PS2 is one of the most successful and top selling consoles of all time. In fact, I think it may even be number one. Beaten only by maybe PS1..

So if so many people have it, then that means that there's that many people who want to buy games for it. And if there is a demand, there should be some pretty DECENT supply.

If only as a fond farewell to make fans buy the newer system.

I see your point.
But I kind of agree with both of you guys, because

1. no ones going: hey lets make a crappy game! :)
too much money goes into manufacturing games to do that....Companys obviously want good quality so more people will buy evidently. (which is most likely why VV is not returning again for web of shadows.)

but,

2. I only say that for regular games that are exclusive to the ps2. Spider-man is a popular franchise. They are obviously using the opportunity to cash in. We've seen this all too many times with SM3 and Superman returns just to name a few.

People have been fighting this fight for an old console for a long time now, they never win. It's just how it is. Seriously...you gotta stop and accept the console is dead. If you can't afford a new console, get a job.

I couldn't afford my $1500 gaming rig so you know what I did? I worked on building it from scratch with my friend and I got a job and paid half and he paid half. If you have a job, save up as much as you can. Yes, money is tight, but you should be saving money anyway.

I'm serious. This fight will never be won. PS2 will get crappy games just as PS3 will once its time is up. You think you have it hard with consoles every 5 years? What about us PC owners who have to watch our hardware become obsolete every week? There's a new Windows OS coming in 2 years, I feel sorry for those just NOW getting a new PC.

There'll be a new Apple OS coming too (I don't know when, but you know it'll happen). What about the new iPhone vs the old one? Or the new iPods coming vs the olds? How do you think they all felt? Cheated? Yea. Did they complain? Yea (they even sued). But really...everyone learned to adapt.

Back on the money issue, if someone can spend $600 on one iPhone, then $200 on the next and still be considered lower class (I know a few lower class that bought one with hard earned and saved money) you can get a PS3 (or a 360, or a Wii or whatever).

Yep, Ryuuie's in a ranting mood and I'm sick of hearing this "I can't afford it" crap. There is no such thing as that if you really put your heart to it like I did. Oh, and I still struggle with bills and I managed to afford something I wanted.

No, it had better graphics than PS2 on Xbox and extra buildings and stuff in the xbox360 version...That's what I've heard anyway.

But you're probably blessed with other things. Do you live at home? Are you paying for EVERYTHING in your life? You seem young, not in a sense of immaturity or anything, but you just don't strike me as like 30...So I assume you live at home. Hey, I do..

If you're having to pay for things alone then you may not be able to afford a PS3. I mean even if you're living at home there are a lot of different home circumstances.

My life is drama, so I don't want to tell my life story but let's just say that I used to live in a certain city that was full of crime and grit. A city that city hall let the poor neighborhoods die to build up Center City. Back there, we had rats and roaches and pipes that didn't work.

I'm not embarrassed anymore from my past. I got pencils for christmas one year because they were shiny and my mom didn't know what else to do because we couldn't afford anything. She couldn't even afford to buy me toys from the dollar store...or maybe it was that she couldn't because we didn't have a car.

I respect you a lot, Ryuuie, but you're sounding like a prick right now and really disappointing me a lot by saying that it's impossible to be so poor that you can't buy a 500 dollar system.

I couldn't of...and through SORROW and pain we were able to move into the suburbs and step up. Through LOSS we gained. It wasn't through saving up money and getting a lucky break. It was darkness that gave us light.

I will refrain from assuming anything bad about you, but please don't talk like it's so easy when it's NOT.

It just occured to me the other day...as long as there is Wii, there will be new PS2 games...because the PS2's graphics are comparable to the Wii and i'm sure it's not that hard to port games over.

And I come from a place where just a few weeks ago, someone was killed for $1. Not everyone lives in a nice place. I do live at home but after some family issues, there's not enough money to go around for essentials anymore.

I was (and still am) "too poor" to buy a $1500 system and I still am but I made it happen regardless, I got a TEMPORARY job working for Goodwill Inc. through their WorkForce program. I got the money and I ****ing made it happen. I'm now out of that job and looking for a new one.

I haven't gotten Christmas OR birthday presents in literally years, not even pencils. So you're pretty lucky, man.

Do not use background on me, I know what that's like. There are people who have come from MUCH worse just to rise up to the top. I can understand if you live in a third-world country, but if you do not, you have no excuse.

You may lose respect for me and that's fine. But you know what, this is how life is. It's real life. We work for what we want, no matter our background. We do not let that hold us back. It is how humans have survived for as long as they have.

I don't deny that there ARE people who can't buy a $500 system, but if that's the case, they shouldn't even be thinking about that sort of thing. Needs before wants. They need to be thinking about the essentials to keep themselves going.

I have not lost respect for you, yet. If anything, being so honest has gained you some back. But you're missing the point, dude!

America is about working for what you want, working hard and getting paid. I understand that. I know that. Not everyone in America lives in Cali and drives a BMW. We have both suffered, and others along with us. Others more so than us, others less. But from where you stand and where someone else stands is a different place completely.

I've met people who can buy about 8 PS3s and it would just be a Sunday afternoon. This is not to "use background" on you but to point out that people have many different stances and places in life and lifestyles. I'm sure you've met people or still know people like this. So can that guy look down on me and say "Pffft...you can't do that? Get a job!" It's just not that damn easy! Sometimes people have to make the choice.

You said it yourself!! Needs before wants, dude! Needs before wants! Maybe people want PS3 and Xbox360, but they have to stick with their PS2! I'd rather feed my family than save up for a PS3. I'd rather have a cell phone then buy a PS3. Telling someone to make this choice is assuming they have not already made it! This is not "their problem" as the system is still a VALID system making games. Why the hell would you make games for a system that does not deserve better games, and make them sub-par? If you'll take the time to make them, make them good.

PS2 -should- have features that make it just as good as the "next-gen" systems versions. PS2 should be respected. And we shouldn't have to just "buy a better system" while it's still out.

You have had it rough, like me, so how can you stand up and take such a ..."tough luck" perspective on all of this!? Sometimes people matter too! And PS3 is just another reason to give Sony money.

Even if you look at it in such a way, even if we say "Okay. Save up. Buy one.", you've said yourself that in a few years it will be obsolete or outdated. So why put the money into something that you can get for cheaper later? Why go out of your way when the company could do THEIR part and make things better, not for an entire system...but just the game?

You are being unnecessarily harsh! I know that you are getting fed up with that from your previous perspective, but please consider what I have said.

I have not known you, from the post I've read, to be headstrong. And you'll probably sign off before you see this, or maybe I will first and won't see your reply until tomorrow. But I'll trust you to think this over before continuing on with this thought process. You know first hand, it's not so simple! Yes, you worked hard and you did what you could, to BUY the things but what if it's more than just the issue of money? (I don't want to repeat myself but a summary just seems fitting...) What if it's an issue above money? Courtesy to the gamers that made THEM rich?

Ryuuie, Silverstein.

both you guys need to calm down. :csad:

Silverstein is right about the ps2 games. It's not right for them to monopolize on people. They are taking advantage of the spider-man franchise.
PS2 games should be made with quality just as good as the next gen. (of course they should be different because of hardware)

but there is no reason they should spit out crap.

I think What Ryuuie said was taken out of context. what Ryuuie really only meant was....get rich....or die tryin.

JK! lighten up you two. I'm sure he meant no harm...I really think he only met to say "hey if i did it you can too."

obviously none of us is "that poor" right now if we're on the computer yamming on about games. no matter how harsh our pasts may have been.

So I haven't been looking into or hearing much about this game in awhile.
What characters are confirmed?
I know of: Luke Cage, Wolverine, Vulture, Venom, Electro (possibly).
Is there anyone else?
And I've seen PS3/360 screen shots but have there been any Wii/ps2 shots yet?

Yeah. Okay. I think anyone that wants to buy a next gen should get an box360 anyway, so fighting for the PS3 argument is kind of fighting without all of my heart.

Sorry Ryuuie, truce...?*holds out hand*

It has nothing to do with getting a job. Some people just don't have the money. It may be dead to you but for someone like me who buys PS2 games alot, it's not. It's not the graphics that should be make the game good. It's the gameplay, plot, etc.

Then you'll just continue to miss out on all the REALLY good games because hardly any come out for PS2 anymore. Most are PS3/XBOX360/and to a slightly lesser extent, Wii bound.

Hey, at least something's coming out.

And PS3/360 also got the oh so wonderful Spider-man: Friend Or Foe. Tell me that was the greatest game ever:cmad:
