My take on this:

...Seriously, is "Spider-Man wins." really a spoiler? XD I mean...really? I personally want a Spider-Man game where you LOSE at the end, no sequel to it either. You just lose. It'd be funny and weird.

New info:
- No downloadable content OR multiplayer.

- Reconfirmation of unlockables and hidden stuff.

- Newly made NYC, better lighting.

- "You can literally dick around the city fighting crime (hero points go up!) or ignoring it and throwing cars at business people (evil points go up!) to level up your character, or follow the compass and cursors in the HUD to move along to your next mission."

- You can switch costumes mid-combo.

- Camera control, again, sounds iffy.

Basically, if you liked Spider-Man 3 and Iron Man, Destructiod.com says you'll like this game. If you didn't, just rent. That sounds bad because SM3 and Iron Man's games SUCKED. >=/ Anyway...I want to throw cars at people, I might get this game.

*Hides from the licking of faces and the hordes of "SPIDER-MAN 3 ROCKED" posts*

Just to RECONFIRM that no dlc thing:

"Before you begin to reminisce about how much you loved games like City of Heroes, there is something you should know: This is a single player experience, and a hard one at that. Although there won't be any multiplayer or downloadable anything, there is tons of unlockable and hidden content strewn around New York City (the map is an upgraded version of the original NYC map from their previous engine and the lighting system is also new)."

More new info:

- Fully destructible city.
Graham Fuchs: Something else that was added to the city is that it's now fully destructible so if you're fighting guys on the ground and you knock a guy into a storefront, the storefront will break. With the black suit you can use the tentacles to grab a trash can and throw it at a guy, so it's more interactive.

But will walls and windows that you fight on also break? We've seen enough gameplay vids where Spidey was wall fighting and literally pounding the wall, but nothing happened. Not even a crack in a window.

I think it's just if you throw someone into a wall, maybe those are just older builds.

No one's going to say anything about no dlc? Hm. I'm proud of the fans here then, it seems people have moved beyond "OMG NO DLC THE GAME SUCKS!".

Now..we'll see if they add in exclusives...

Well, one I don't have/can't afford online anyway...

And two, I'm 20...I've had generations of gaming consoles without ANY online. And I want a spidey game that is 100% complete not one with promises of grander things to come.

DLC is an excuse for companies to half-ass a game and then trick you into spending more money to buy the rest of the game.

Rarely have I even heard of an example of a game that had DLC that was so exapansive and new that it actually served as "extra" as opposed to "completion".

DLC is my ass and Companies that do that are my balls!! >_< </angry nintendo nerd voice>

although the shots are awesome...I'm starting to lose my faith in this game with all I hear...

I think it will be ok, as long as you don't get your hopes up for anything other than "ok".

And I agree with Silverstein. I have access to online but still don't care about Online or DLC or anything. I rarely play online, maybe a game of SSBB or Dr. Mario, but that's it. If I'm going to play something multi-player, I have friends come over to play.

So yea, no big deal to me.

So yea Im guessing a symboite takes over wolverine at some point if the screens are any indication.

How was Spider-man 3 on PS3? I'm thinking of going PS3 only and selling my xbox360 (Not a HUGE gamer anyway), But I love Spider-man so much that I'd keep the 360 just for this game.

Guess you havent tried out/and or heard about the DLC in games like Oblivion and Burnout Paradise

DAMN IT BRUCE YOU BEAT ME TO IT:mad::oldrazz::D LOL, IT'S AWESOME THOUGH!!!:up::D:up:

That trailer was 100% Badass.:word:

Anyone else notice Avengers Tower in the beginning?

This game should be decent without ANY type of online, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'll wait until October to see.

By the way, the 100% official release date of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is October 21, 2008.

It's the same as 360, any multi-platform game on 360 is the same on PS3.

I have oblivion and I'm well aware of dlc and stuff for it, but that's why I said "RARELY". But with a game like oblivion they actually released much of the dlc to buy from stores...and other things like patches and skins don't really count as "DLC" because it(that kind of content) existed before DLC was thought(PC skins and patches have been around since like forever) of and it is free.

So, recap:

-It does happen, but rarely..this would not end up being one of those times. It would just turn into another half-assed spidey game released in the fall.
-Mods and skins and other content is not enough to excuse DLC and anything more (such as oblivion amounts of content)should simply be released in stores, anyway.
-A game is not made by online features it's made by the game itself. If you have a whole other game's worth of patches, skins, levels and DLC then that is why the word "sequel exists."
