Comics Spider-Man: With Great Power

Just picked up Spider-man: With Great Power issue 1 and 2. Great great great reads.

Spider-man easily has the best origin story in all of comics. It's simple, depressing and emotional. I needed to get my Spider-man fix somehow so I'm glad I decided to give this title a chance.

Has there been any continuity errors yet?

Aloha,
Peter was too young to drive a car alone,Crusher was bald and I thought Maxie Shiffman was his manager during his Entertainment days?

Spider-Man: With Great Power Issue #3 was awesome! I loved how we got to see The Fantastic Four fighting, while Spidey and that girl were eating lunch on top of a building. I also that it was really cool how they made the robber get away, like in Amazing Fantasy Issue #15. It truly will be such an emotional feeling seeing the outcome of that in one of the upcoming Issues.

Aloha,
It looks like Peter was not the little nerd with women that we were lead to believe over the years. Nor was Betty Brant his first OLDER woman. The boy has lived a rich life.:woot:

I'm waiting to get all 5 issues before I read them in one sitting...

Though I did pick up #3 today...

:yay:

Why didn't #4 come out this month? or did it just not arrive at my comic book shop?

wth is going on with this title?! there are no solicitations for any more issues of this title to come out in may, although this title was supposed to be done in may. I hope #4 comes out soon..

Interesting. I thought my shop just sold out. So #4 hasn't come out yet? What's with the delays?

Ok good....

Well not good that the issue has been delayed for this long, but its good that I forgot about it and it never came out. Seriously, I forgot this title was even out. Delays take away so much momentum for any title. What a shame.

Peter Should be 16. that's old enough....
but he couldn't drive even as a college student. (the Spider-mobile.)

His age was quoted as 15 at the time he got his powers in the Parallel Lives graphic novel.

I guess it's possible he had a birthday around that time though...

Eh...you really can't trust too much these days. these guys easily over look continuity when it comes to Spidey.
There was an issue of Amazing during Jms' tenure on the book.

Peter mentions he was bitten by the spider at age 17.

Yeah, it's a shame about all the lazy writers who've worked on Spidey. :yay:

Does this book take place in the 60's?

That would make Peter a senior citizen. :hehe:

It takes place the same time as Spider-man's origin in Amazing Fantasy #15, which (even though it was created in the 60s) definitely takes place 9 years ago. (since Spider-man is now 25 years old, and is stated to be 16 [although I thought it was 15] when he first becomes Spider-man. IDK if Brand New Day has anything to do with where its taking place [effecting his age] but AF#15 takes place 9 years before current BND issues)
edit= BTW, can't wait for #4-5, although they should've come out a long time ago I think.

Although in FNSM #8, a police officer states that Uncle Ben died 20 years ago, which would make Peter 36. It was probably just lazy writing.

Aloha,
I guess it depends on the State. I thought at 16 you couldn't drive alone at night? Anyway, looking forward to #4.
