What do you think this means?

My guess is that's its a AMAZING & ULTIMATE crossover since it appears that both Bendis AND Slott are involved

holy crap why is it so friggin big?

This has already been discussed and we decided to leave this for the Ultimate thread. The left side of the Spider-symbol is Ultimate Peter's (as was seen on the Death of Spider-Man), the right is Miles', just reversed in color. This is an Ultimate only thing as far as anyone could tell.

Hopefully Ultimate Pete is brought back...

As do I. But I highly doubt it. Miles Morales is just getting started. This might be a reflecting period. Where Miles maybe reviews parker's moves and styles and maybe apply them to his own?

I hope he doesn't return so soon, what i like in the Ultimate Marvel Universe is that death means something, and so their characters are not brought back to life mere months after their deaths

i hope Ultimate Peter STAYS DEAD. bringing him back would be a stupid move

While I love me some miles, Ultimate Pete was probably my favorite character in comics. Bring him back! :o

No.

Killing him was a stupid move.

Miles is cool and all, but he hasn't really grown on me yet. Killing off Peter to make room for Miles was- contrary to what they say -a publicity stunt. A stupid one.

Instead of killing Peter, they could easily have had him out of action/in critical condition in the hospital after his battle with the Green Goblin... which would force Miles to step in for a while.

Once Peter was back, Miles could have been given his own spin-off series (more money for them) and fans of Peter would be happy. A win-win outcome.

Yeah cause that Azrael, Shadow of the Bat book is still going strong...

I'm not a fan of killing Pete to bring in Miles, but your idea really is too Batman. Sorry to say it, but it didn't work for DC and I don't think it'll work for Marvel...

So the general public wouldn't buy a comic about a kid prancing around as Spider-Man who isn't the Spider-Man we all know and love?

Shocker.

EDIT: And anyways, just because it didn't work for Azrael, it doesn't mean it wouldn't have worked for Miles. If they developed him long enough for the audience to actually like him... hell, they could have had another cashcow. But whatever, what's done is done. :P

The general public weren't really too crazy about picking up the daughter of Spider-Man prancing around either.

I think Miles is fine and killing Ultimate Peter Parker was fine with me. You don't have to read Miles Morales and if nobody buys the Ultimate Spider-Man book they'll either make the change or the book gets cancelled.

However, as far as I know the book is still doing just fine.

Again, it could work.

I really don't care for Miles so far, but maybe he'll grow on me.

I think he may grow on you. He's grown on me through the first three issues. I actually like his friend Ganke more than Miles. However, the latest Ultimate Spider-Man issue I read kind of made me like Miles more.

Um, it kind of did work for DC. DC didn't plan on having Bruce replaced with Azreal. He was always supposed to just be a fill in for a couple months/years/however long it was.

Then, once Bruce was back, Azreal got his own series which ran for 8 years and over 100 issues. That's a pretty impressive run for a newly created character.
