Homecoming Spiderman x Daredevil in the MCU

I don't take offense of that. But I also don't see a reason for some to be on the offensive to me because of it (not speaking about you, just in general)na...I don't know about that. I was pretty bummed out by the time the news was announced, officially. However, the last thing I "latched onto" that people had discussed with me saying probably won't happen, actually happened.

Yeah exactly, you were bummed out cause you thought Dylan still had a chance to get the part even though we'd already known for months that he was out of the running.

And that's what I mean by you "latching onto things"...you kinda have this tendency to ignore the facts when it suits you. Like another certain infamous poster around these boards. :cwink:

Personally, I don't see a Spidey/DD crossover happening any time in the near future.

Nobody's avoiding your point, I'm saying it doesn't really hold up. You keep saying Spidey will be in this because Fisk is one of his enemies from the comics. I'm saying Marvel has already done multiple successful adaptations that leave out or ignore certain aspects or characters from the comics. Civil War was the most recent but it's been done with just about every movie and show they've made. There is nothing to suggest that Spider-Man will be in Daredevil despite his connection to Kingpin.

Until anything is official I don't think it's completely irrational to "latch" though. I'm not ignoring any of the facts; it's not like when Tom was announced to be Spidey that I tried saying it was a fake announcement or anything.
Nobody's avoiding your point,
You are.

well you're wrong. I know for fact that for years and years, before february 9th 2015, people would constantly say that spiderman in the MCU would never happen and that it's just wishful thinking.

What I keep saying is that it SHOULD happen. I'm not trying to conspire about it actually happening and them keeping it secret. Who knows if that is even true; the inception of this thread was about this being a good idea, and that they should do it. a lot of people want to see it.

I would love to see a crossover, but I don't see it happening.

...they both operate out of NYC. once kingpin gets out of jail he's likely going to go back to hell's kitchen and continue doing what he's doing. so yes they absolutely are and should cross paths and if they don't, then all things considered, it won't make sense.

They're not planned to and it's as simple as that. Making sense and not making sense is irrelevant here.

I know what you mean by tone, what I'm saying is that that isn't an excuse. Even if they're subsections, they're not separate.

They are separate to Marvel, obviously, or else they'd be in the films, too.

and you think that's okay? that's definitely something worthy of criticism in my book. of course I see what you're getting at. we've gotten there ever since this thread was created. and i'll continue to say that complicated hollywood bs breaks the organicity of what makes the MCU a highly successful franchise in the first place.

My opinion on it is irrelevant because that's just how they're doing things. Sure, I'd love to see one GIANT Universe acknowledge every little thing but if there's no real usage of it, it serves no purpose to them and I'm okay with that.

Feige singled out the Daredevil cast when he talked about the TV shows crossing over with the movies, so I wouldn't be totally dismissive of the idea. If it happens it'll probably be in Infinity War, though.

what else is relevant here is that plans change. When the MCU was created they obviously didn't have plans to have Spider-Man. And, those plans changed.

not necessarily. They probably branched out to cater to more audiences and spit more IPs out every year at the same time. But they're not separate narratively.

thats your opinion, that's fine. I happen to disagree and I definitely see a ton of potential purposes served.
