Comics SPIDEY New Entry Level Kids Series Announced

It was either on newsarama.com or comicbookresources.com I believe or from previews.

The initial report following the preview from CBR states November 2015 and on Newsarama and everywhere else that I have looked it states "coming this fall."

well i do know since its first issue will have a hip hop variant its what ever the hip hop variant month is. Which is nov if i recall correctly.

You said December in a previous post and that you saw the release date as December. Is there a link that actually states December or are you mistaken?

I originally thought it was dec. But after checking around and also remembering first issue out during hip hop month it's some time in nov.

Does it come out this week?

So I just got finished with the issue. Was a fun read. Solid story telling and jokes. The drama if peter life and spidey life was handled well. The art was fun and colorful. I am just scratching my head on how is this book in continuity to rest of the marvel universe. When this was met to be a retelling looking at more adventures when peter was a kid set between af#15 and asm 30. But what is harry and gwen doing in hs with him. So is this book it's own thing or are they redoing spidey in canon continuity again...

That's cool that you liked it. I pick up my copy tomorrow.

I am just curious to see is it really canon to new marvel universe. Or its it's own thing. Cause I haven't read anything thst confirms either since info first came out.

Overall I enjoyed the issue but Spidey's suit is drawn so horribly. The lack of symmetry with the webbing is glaring and looks ugly. I've no idea why the webbing on the suit only covers the front portion of his head...it looks so odd and out of place. Otherwise, the art was very good.

Aloha,
From Axel in charge CBR
This might be more of a Nick Lowe question, but "Spidey" presents a bit of a different take on the history of Spider-Man -- with, say, Gwen Stacy attending the same high school as Peter Parker. Is this meant to be outside of the mainline continuity?

Alonso: Decide for yourself. We're looking to tell fun stories that will hopefully connect with new readers or inspire old fans to look at Spider-Man in a new way.

Cop out. No Spidey is NOT the same as Untold Tales of Spider-Man.
Not saying it won't be enjoyable. I'll look upon it like Chapter One and the Spider-Man comic strips. It will have it's own continuity .
Spidey rules with ORDER!:cwink:

Well from axel I guess it's more like past kids books and it's is its own thing. As it totally goes again the current 616 info we know.

Read this, really loved it. Feels like a nice 616-Ultimate mixture.

ya its pretty much if you take axel quote just a new general ages/marvel adventures type story. Where the writer is drawing from any stuff they like and playing with a teen peter/spidey that is no brought down with baggage from needing to know this or that aspects of his history.

Read the second issue. So far its keeping up. I still like too imagine its based on Toms Spidey even though it isn't helps me hold over until the Civil War

ya again this was made up well before tom and teen angle was to be in the films. The second issue was fun. And like axel said take it as it is and its its own thing and draws from classic, new stuff, ultimate and what not. The only thing i think is a little weird is more on bradshaw art and why the heck isnt there weblines on the back of spidey mask.

This.

The lack of symmetry on the suit is annoying and ugly, imo. Otherwise I think the art is quite fitting for the book--it has a juvenile-like quality to it that visually depicts the very basic idea of the storytelling. That's not a knock on the art, I like it, but this book is pretty elementary.

Oh ya I think nick art is great in book I just wonder what was his train of though on mask lacking full weblines.

bro, read. I said imagine. Lemme imagine what I want in peace. In know its not but regardless I'm still gonna pretend it is cause its fun

ok you dont have to get all huffy at me. Its a fun little book and like axel said its pretty much its own thing. Just taking any stuff from 616 past/now, ultimate or anything its wants. As it no way fits with current history stuff.

ok i am sorry man, so how are you enjoying the series.
