i to also sell stanleewannab you may or may not know that lol ;) but as much as i aggree that this has turned more in 2 a gallery/sails thread and a display page for one or 2 of the top sellers and hay i am guilty of posting pix on here and trying to make some extra cash i am 2 sided on it

yes it can be annoying sighning on and seeing the same persons suit on different customers as you can only see the same suit so many times before you just have seen it enough but on the other side of the coin its been 10 years since the first movie has been made their were minor changes out side of color and spiders and palm webbing on all 3 suits the face shell lenses and muscle suits under the costume changed more movie to movie than the costume did lol

so i can see how it has turned form a how to page to more of a look at how all of our general info that has been said over and over and needs no explination now has changed to beter molds and betor colors and fabrics

yes this could go back to how to make the suits but what really has not been said about how to make them after 10 years honestly the only thing some one has not made like the film yet is the boots and thats because thay are super costly to have made like the film trust me i checked in to it and the boots that sellers are yousing like yours and brads are ****ing amazing and really dont need changing

now i am not ranting or also trying to throw stones and kick up dirt i totally get your point but being on both ends of the fence their really is no more info to be told it has all been said over and over again and every movie pic of the costume that can be found has been posted so whay not show off your amazing costume here unless we all make a thread just for displaying final suits for show or sails purposes

Actually I agree. A thread that's a gallery / sales thread separate from a methods thread would be perfect.

So make it happen gents.. you guys can start a new thread at any time. The biggest question I get is "I got a file but where can I get a suit printed in the US" and I've no idea. Best I can say is try Google and see what you can come up with. But you guys obviously know so you're more qualitied to answer this question. Good first topic for a methods only board.

so it has been forever since i had a chance to do spiders on a costume as for some reason every one has asked to have printed one :( i understand printed webbings as it is better for a costume being used often but the urithain spiders just add that little extra to any suit.....welll i figured i would post some pix as the spiders are from a new mold i made and the print is a new file as well

also here is a quick look at the new black suit that will be avaliable soon its a really quick shot so pleas do not be so quick 2 judge and i mean really quick shot with my cell lol i plan on having the lenses on the costume and better more professional pix to show after halloween

Hey Jester, I went to check out your website. Good job, looks great. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that the pictures you have of the Spiderman dye-sublimated suit are of me!!!! The 2 pics of Spidey on the brick wall and standing on the grass are of yours truly!!! They were taken the same day I received my suit and I was extatic!! I don't mind you using them I believe in cooperation not competition. What's really important is to keep creating and re-creating!!!

Cheers!!

Sorry all, that was my first post and I didn't really introduce myself...I've been going over this board for a long time now. I find Brad from Spidey4fun to be one of the foremost authority on Spidey suits and an all around great guy. I've never had a transaction with him but he always answered my emails in a timely fashion... Keep up the great work Brad!!! I make my own suits now but I'm constantly looking to get better.

Here's a very recent picture of me. You can use it if you like Jester.;)

hero888 well its nice to finally know who was in the spidey suit i got thoes when i was working with mike and since our file never changed and the color of the print was just slightly inhanced we never needed new ones as thay worked great thya showed every angle we needed

but verry soon i will be taking them down and posting new ones since i now use a new and better file and also going over all of my products and taking all new pix as i am getting more and more orders so i feel i need to look more and more professional

but im glad you like what you saw some times i brows the sight trying to think of ways to change it and i just sit back and am truly amazed because i forget just how much i have to offer being a one man band for 99% of what i offer

Hey guys, here is a mask I just completed. A buy it now price can be negotiated if you want to get it in time for halloween.

I will be taking and uploading better pictures to the auction as soon as I can. It is currently on a small mannequin head in order to let the fumes from the adhesive air out.

Cool pic.... Very cool back ground for a spidey pose.

Brad.

Hey guys I'm working on my suit right now for a party tonight and have a couple of questions I need help on asap!

What kind of glue should I use to apply the foamie spiders to the front and back of the spandex with? I wanna make sure they stay on!

Also, I bought some aquasocks and am thinking of cutting all the crap off of them and then gluing the bottom of the spandex feet to the inside of the aquasock, am I doing that right?

Thanks guys!

I've not used foamie so not sure... I use Loctite All Plastics but that's with Urethane spiders and lycra.

Brad.

spiderfan970,

Foamies are NOT a great idea for making front and back spiders. The foam will rip really easily. I know you're probably doing it that way to save money, but there are better, easier ways. Making a latex casting of the foamie piece you've already cut isn't hard. The mold is as easy as cutting the shape out of clay, pouring latex in the hole, and letting it dry.

If you MUST attach foamies to spandex, loc-tite or superglue will work (the topic comes up over on the costuming forums http://www.thesuperherocostumingforum.yuku.com/) or if you find zap-a-gap which works well with fabric.

Are you sealing the foamies first and painting them? Again, not hard to do. Just take glue and water mix and apply 5-6 coats so that the foamies will take paint. You can also take fabric paint (puffy, tulip paint) and do a coat over the top of the foamies to make it look better.

For the shoes

Yeah, all you have to do is trim them down to the soles...then find Barge cement or any kind of rubber cement that you can brush into the soles. Easy to find at hardware stores. DAP is one kind. When you do this, make sure that you are wearing socks on the inside of your suit. Then put your suit on ...then step into the soles and wear it for awhile.

There is another way to do this, but it's not for the timid. If you want it to look a bit better...buy deck shoes/kung-fu shoes. Wear them inside the suit...then use stick pins to pin the suit down to the shoes. At this point you will CUT the suit pattern to remove the part covering the actual soles. Again...dont do this if you're too afraid of messing up the suit. You'll glue down the suit around the edges and have a really crips, non-aqua sock sole.

Thanks for the responses guys! I did end up going to buy some loctite and used that for the foamies. Stan's advice is great though, I'm going to save that for future costumes. As for the shoes I just used loctite on that too and it held out for most of the evening. Didn't start coming undone until it was time to go home anyway.

The only other problem I encountered was the mesh over my eyes. When I made the mask I cut the black part out of vynl and ironed it onto the mask then cut the red out. Then after that I took some action figure wrapping plastic and then white mesh under that and super glued them to the other side. The mesh bothered me whenever I put on the mask, any suggestions for holding it down? I tried tape but that won't work. Also the super glue wasn't holding very well. Any suggestions for those issues? I'm thinking of ripping off the plastic and just doing the mesh, I think the plastic was fogging up when we went out.

You have to realize that was simply comic style. If you saw any costume such as spiderman's, realistically, and then dried to draw it in cartoon form- it's going to lose a lot of its details that make it look realistic. Imagine it coming from a kids mind as he drew what he remembered spiderman's colors/details looking like..
