Doubtful. I bet he made another account, or used a friend's, to fake buy it. You'll probably see it up under another name in a few days.

I Wouldn't be surprised if on his feedback you see the fake account leave positive feedback, and then a couple days later you see that same name list it again. But ebay is not dumb- since it has been reported his IP was recorded and when an auction (say someone reports his next listing of the mask under a new name) is reported they will check the IP and see the previous offenses and probably ban him..

Brad, anymore sewing progress on the red and blue print suit?

Not yet. My printer didnt realise I'd sent pretty much the exact amount of fabric but didnt start printing at the top of the fabric....so they ran out of red fabric 1/2 way through the feet. I sent more fabric to them yesterday. I also sent a sample of a light blue fabric to see how that looks when printed. I expect I'll see the blue sample and reprinted feet in a week.

Brad, i was wondering how much are you charging for the comic style print? I have a great sewing machine so i don't have to worry about that but i want to know how much are the prints?

Reported to eBay. I would encourage everyone to take a minute to do the same. :cwink:

I agree, but here's the problem. What do we report? We know it's fake. We know it's fake because we know it's a low quality replica and we also know the facts surrounding it's creation. But ebay doesn't know, or frankly care what we think. As far as they know we know nothing about the mask or it's provenance.

Sell a fake mask for $10 thousand dollars and they don't care, but steal your picture and use it, they will remove the auction in a heartbeat.

I agree we should report it, I did, but don't hold out hopes of them doing anything.

That mask look terrible.

It looks even worse in normal light. He actually changed the pics for this new auction. Before, in normal light, you could really see how terrible it really was. He has masked the flaws with the low light pics. Now it actually looks a little better.

His youtube name is DimwittedDinobot and on Ebay its symbiote-x. Hes blocked me so many times and he disabled the comments on youtube and his channel. I called someone @ Sony and complained so they gave me a number to call. I left a message with her and ill call back Monday. I say if anybody can please call her and complain. The number is (310) 244-2138 Melissa

I once sold a reproduction Spider-Man costume piece. I marketed as a replica and listed it in a frame for around $50. Ebay pulled the auction and told me I was violating copyright infringement and Sony asked ebay to pull it.

This has been listed at least three times and ebay or Sony has done nothing.

^ Stunningly Beautiful!

I have a question, what kind of adhesive do you guys use when you stick the webbing to the lycra suits?

I'm curious because I'd like to do the same to mine, but I don't want things sticking up and popping off when I wear it.
Well thanks for them comment, nothing like 2 weeks in the greenland after spending months on making these things.

Depending on substrate is what matters, If it's foam Latex, a latex based glue is best, If it's urethane, a urethane glue followed by cynnocriliae or what ever it's called (superglue) If it's normal latex then, the all purpose glue is best. These are all the glues I have used in the passed and they have all worked as well for somehting which is being constantly stretched back and fouth. I think brad has already answered this question though...

Looking good. Red looks spot on.. perhaps just a tad too much contrast on the blue.

Wow you can tell from just that picture.. your probably right, bare in mind, I just wanna stress, the colours were asked to be different on this one. but I didn't really chyange the pattern that much from my last attempt which kinda suffered from the same probos

This in fact is not the costume I was making for Janurary that I stated, I'm months behind on that and probably 3 months away from it, this pattern was made back in August last year.

Thanks guys

haha. I sent him a message:

"Hey, I saw you sold a screen used movie mask with the same description just a couple days ago. How many of these do you have for sale bro? Your uncle must really know what he's doing to get you this many, Lucky!

I'm interested in buying one, except, the pictures you have up now are really shady...i.e: poor quality, blurry, etc.. Do you think you could upload some higher quality pics of this bad boy before I sink 10K into it? I'd hate for the mask to be fake or something. Of course, I am sure this is not the case given your feedback."

I'll let you all know what he says back.

Bahahaha... I reported him to ebay for the vulgar language policy cuz in the title description says, ....NO BULL***** LOOK... I also reported him for the excessive shipping and handling one, so now hes offering free shipping for them! Again, if anybody can call please do! 310) 244-2138 Melissa @ Sony
Hey should this be a new thread...? :hehe: Ahahaha!!!

OR... spidermilk or I could post something to keep this thread on track. I received some fabric samples today that were actually used for SM2. Now I have to try get the same fabric and match the colours. Will this hobby ever end!!!

Actually, it was pointed out here first, so it appears that twitter "story" was nothing more than taking the info from the members here, and presenting it as information discovered by the poster.

Meh......

Actually, I know that it appeared here first. Believe it or not I can read dates. I pointed out that it had made Jason's Original Prop Blog because it is the most respected movie prop site. Although it only made it on his Twitter and not the OPB main page, it's still important. People here may not know about the OPB but it is very very well known in the prop community. He has shut down some of the biggest ebay scammers.

You seem very upset that I pointed out the obvious. It was never my intention to upset you so personally.

Many people believe it is wrong for someone to join and/or read multiple forums only with the intention of using those members discoveries and information as their own. It also is not looked upon favorably to promote your site all over someone else's.

I never said you could or could not read dates, so I am not sure why you said that.

Are you a member of this person, Debord's forum and do you know him?

Who proclaimed his blog the "most respected movie prop site"?

As to your believing that the "OPB" is "very very well known in the prop community" I cannot affirm or deny that, as I only heard of it recently.

I do not believe that Mr. Debord individually has shut anyone "down" as you stated. He, and many others, have assisted Ebay in many instances. I too know people that have contacted Ebay questioning certain auctions.

From what I have gathered, this blogger has reported on other people's findings and information for many of his stories. Did he sometimes not ask permission to use their findings, pictures, or forum posts in his blog for those stories?

For example:

This "story" reported by the blogger here:

http://www.originalprop.com/blog/20...bilia-with-doctored-celebrity-signing-photos/

was from another site,:

http://live.autographmagazine.com/photo/albums/american-royal-arts-fake

The blogger used, without permission from the AM article writer, photos from their original story. Those photos were altered by adding the OPB logo color and font to them. Which seems to suggest they were created by the OPB blog.

That may not be "respectful" to the copyright owner and writer of the original story.

When contacted, the writer of the original story from autographmagazine said the OPB blog did not have, nor ask permission, to use the copyrighted photos. The AM site owner did not seem overly upset, but did mention those facts.

Mr. Debord joined the Yuku board, "Not Suitable For General Exhibition" as a member in Jan 2010. He made one post advertising links to his blog.

He remained silent for about a month ( 3 weeks, 2 days), then reported about a Dracula movie poster fraud.

Again, that information was gleaned from another forum located here:

http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg33764.html

and the Yuku forum here:

http://stylec.yuku.com/topic/6364

You appear very angry and possibly personally involved:

Actually, I know that it appeared here first. Believe it or not I can read dates.

In the spirit of online discourse, my only intention was to make a few observations and not upset you.
